Amazing little combo

Bought this after reading reviews, it's an amazing little combo and it's valve\tube.

With one or five watt button , tone and volume it's easy to get a great sound.

I mic this with a 57 and have an instant standout guitar sound.

Can really sound huge with close and room mix set up.

Hard to believe that this tiny amp with small price tag can sound so good.

Listen to this little amp rocking out at one watt for instant guitar pleasure at a room friendly volume

Best small tube amp!

I just bought this small amp for practice but it sounds so good that i gig with it in small bars (mic'd). If you use it with a 2x12 sounds amazing, it takes pedals good too!

A Champ

This is a Tweed Princeton in disguise!

A fantastic sounding little amp that goes from bright and chimy at lower volume settings to fat, gritty and plain rock ‘n’ roll as you turn the volume up.

Past around 2 o’clock it doesn’t get louder just more compressed and fatter…it’s pure vintage valve all the way.

I replaced the speaker with a WGS G8C as it was recommended on forums and magazines but to be honest the stock

speaker is decent and probably just needs breaking in. Having said that the WGS sounds amazing.

Great sounding amp

Really impressed with the sound, especially using the speaker out into my 12" cab or into a loadbox/IR. Very loud for its size. The 8" inch speaker obviously doesn't have loads of bass but still sounds pretty good.

Equalizer missing. The build quality is good. The quality of the materials is low. UPS delivery is terrible. Price quality, you can not argue. Combo amp sound for clean sound and crunch. Not much overload.

Super little amp!

This is my first tube amp, coming from a VOX VT20x which I loved, but the tube sound is a different game altogether! Amazing! It brought my guitars' sound to another level (Strat & LEs Paul). I mostly play in house with friends, and this amp is VERY loud even at 12 o'clock.

It also takes pedals with grace. My fuzz pedal sounds way more beefy and clear.

My only complaint is that the 2 plastic white knobs & the attenuator button are very cheap plastic material in feel and look. They could have been better...

Less is more

Amazingly well sounding tube amp on a budget.

Very nice

Sounds really nice and warm. It's more than loud enough for the home practice. With a nice set of pedals it's perfect.

Fantastic little amp

A pro junior for a fifth of the price, with a handy attenuator thrown in. Put an OD pedal and a reverb in front of it and it gives my Cornell Romany 12 a serious run for its money. What a wonderful little old school amp.

Best Tube Amp for the money

I bought this amp to get the tube sound while recording. This amp has exceeded all my expectations and has become my primary guitar recording amp. Only issue is the 5W/1W switch. When 1W mode is selected it seems to attenuate the input signal which in turn does not allow you to drive the amp to its sweet spot. Other than that it is a fantastic amp for the price.

It's cheap, it's ok - for the price, it's great!

Better than thought. Note that 1W mode is just "volume setting drop" or similar. But no complaints on that.

Great little amp!

I bought this amp as a replacement for my Pignose which died on me. I was really surprised at how good this amp sounded for the price. I have a few other amps, Jet City, Orange micro terror, Marshall Valvestate and the Pignose. I definitely prefer the clean sound of the Harley Benton to the others. It's a no brainer for the the price. Recommended!

Very pure tube amp.

Pure tube oldschool sound - just one word - great. It know only one sound, but that ONE for vintage fans, Low sound power for home playing, great price for you can have this amp like your second amp like an accesorry to your stage amp (vintage under 30W shure). My recomendation to use with SC pickups.

Great sounding amp for small price

Really happy with this one, as soon it arrived I plugged in my guitar, and the few spare minutes I got for testing turned into hours of playing... (could get you into trouble with other household members :) but it's worth it)

Nice warm tube sound especially when you paired it with a tube screamer, solid build for that price also you could use it with another cab. It exceeds my expectations that I had it before it arrived by far, I fully recommend it as an affordable small tube amp.

Beautiful amp

Absolutely incredible amp. Unbeatable sound at a price anyone can afford. Why would you use anything else?

Simple

I wanted something just for clean tones and after seeing a bunch of good reviews on this guy I decided to go for tubes instead of digital. Why not right? It's cheap.

For my use it's great. You warm it up and just start playing. I live in an apartment and dont want to disturb my neighbours and this guy is not too loud for that use. If you put everyting on max you might have someone knocking on your door, but leave it at ~50% and you're good.

Features are limited, volume and tone. But I wasn't looking for anything more so I'm happy with that.

It feels sturdy and is not too heavy.

I'm planning to buy some pedals in the future and see how it works with them but as a standalone clean amp it's great.

Nice little amp

I think this is the cheapest valve amp combo on the market from anyone vaguely reputable, but price alone is a pointless factor if the amp doesn't deliver a useful product, fortunately I found this little combo to be a great piece of kit with a really good tone and plenty of volume.

The speaker was a little boxy sounding at first but with a day or two to play in it came to life. It is actually the most impressive amp tone I've ever heard a practice amp deliver, unmistakably valve sounding.

If you are trying to dip a toe into the world of tube/valve amplification then don't hesitate, these are great.

If however you are trying to decide between the two (i own the tube15 too), I would suggest the following might be useful to consider.

The tube5 is not lacking in volume, it does however do quiet playing better and sounds respectable even at very low volume were the tube15 seems to kicks in at a higher volume.

If features are your thing the tube5 isn't the one for you, the tube15 has Reverb, independent gain and volume controls, more extensive tone shaping controls and an effects loop...but it is much larger, heavier and twice the price.
