Harley Benton Valuestrings WE12 10-50 4-stars Reviews
Cheap strings
I play outside and am a string breaker. The 12 string acoustic is louder outside than a 6 string so they work great for me!!!
5 for value
I use them for acoustic 6 string and Nashville tuning sets by breaking the pack in two. Sound just fine and kills two birds with one stone
Great ratio
Great price to quality ratio!
A good budget set of strings.
More expensive strings may be slightly better but these are good value for a very competitive price. Add a few spare sets to your gig bag.
Extremely cheap!!
Bought these strings because of everyday guitar playing, outside in rough use, many hours a day, and I was breaking many strings because of it. These are perfect for this use because even if their sound quality degrades drasticly very quickly, the strings and going to be breaking and be replaces anyways, so thats is no problem for me. Not good strings for causual playing, even though they sound good at first they will lose their sound very fast and have to be replaced very fast again. But perfect for street musicians who play for long hours and break lots of steings!
Good sound but rather poor durability
To be honest, I really like these strings. They are the cheapest in the universe and they have a decent equal tone. Every time I put them on, I'm a bit surprised how good they actually sound.
Nevertheless, my, there are easy to break. Not only the thinnest G but even the thicker string really don't last long. (Even compared to other Harley 10s, which is baffling.) But for the price, I can afford to put a new set every week, so what.
Good option as stock strings replacement
Suddenly after the purchase of a new guitar the best sound improvement could be achieved with the replacement of the stock strings set, usually provided with the lowest possible quality.
So, while waiting to read some review on the net about the best choice for a set of strings for my 12 string guitar, I've decided to buy this Harley Benton set...
Well, to my surprise, the overall quality of those strings are more than decent: manufacturing is very well done, each string coming into its package, no defect at a visual inspection.
Then, after installing the string on the guitar, the sound test has been really satisfactory: the improvement with respect to the stock set is really sensible and the overall feeling with those strings is surprising when their price is taken into account.
I'm not saying this product could satisfy a pro guitar player looking for the absolute sound quality but for the rest of us, amateur guitar players, this product could offer a valid solution for frequent string change or spare set to always bring in the guitar case pocket.
As last consideration, let me say that while sound quality is a hardly measurable aspect, the price is deterministic: due to their price of about 2,50 euro, these strings are unbeatable (while still providing a very decent sound)!
Another Good Benton String.
Needed a 12 string set for a guitar I don't use much , but had rusty strings on, thought i'd try these and they are fine, actually still on the guitar months after putting them on. Get yourself some string cleaner and they will last.
12 of them. It takes a whole life to change them. Jesus. But they are good.
Excellent backups
bought these for my 12 string and just keep them in its case just in case some strings break, that has happened so I restrung it with these and for the price they sound fantastic, the quality of the strings feel really good and they offer a nice bright tone as most new strings do, even if they're just for an emergency they're definitely worth it, of course these aren't going to be the best sounding strings on the market, they do sound better than some strings where you'd end up paying at least 5x the price. These are really good strings and for the price you simply cannot argue otherwise.
Good Value Strings
Great Strings for the price
Ideal for spares / Student/Budget Musician
Would deffo Recommend
Good for price
At this price you cannot complain on these. Sound good, keep in tune and feel steady not soft steel like some cheap strings I used before on repairs. Use them to keep your fees low or as a setup/trial test until you fine tune the guitar for an expensive set ;)
Bargain strings
Bought these as a back up set, but decided to do a full restring as the old set were sounding dull.
They've been on a couple of weeks and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. They feel good on the fingers and no strings have broken yet!
Maybe not as bright sounding as some of the more expensive sets, but I suppose you get what you pay for!
Overall I'm pleased with them and will probably buy another set in a few months.
Excellent
These are excellent value for strings. They don't quite have the quality or sound of more expensive strings but they're good for putting on a cheaper guitar. I would definitely buy these again in future
Harley Benton strings
The quality of this set of strings is totally acceptable for a home guitarist, and the price is unbelievable! If blindfolded, the average person can't tell the difference between these or much more expensive strings. And now it's cost effective to replace your strings with a fresh set in shorter intervals.
All you need
Absolutely nothing to complain about regarding this set of strings! Easy to tune and sounds good. The strings where marked so dummies can understand it :-) (1 to 12) It remains to see how long they will last but so far I am very pleased.
Excellent Value
I'm sure you can get better strings than these, but they are at least 4 times the price - these are excellent value for money.
The cheapest strings in the world!
These have to be the cheapest set of 12string strings in the world. Surprisingly, the quality is every bit as good as the more expensive Martin strings, would recommend for someone that regularly breaks strings!
