This pedal has a good handling but it may change the sound of the original guitar tone. On the other hand its the best pedal you can buy with its low price.

Good enough

Well for the price you can't hope for a MXR p90, but this is quite similar! In some settings it will change a bit the sound and you will ear it change (witch is worse!).

Great Phase 90 emulation!

I play and record a lot of styles of music and I love a good phaser!

The MXR Phase 90 is THE classic phaser pedal to have, used by artists as diverse as Eddie Van Halen and Waylon Jennings. Harley Benton's Vintage Phase is attempting to emulate the classic Phase 90 sound, and in my opinion, does it really well!

It sounds great - exactly how it should, and can provide guitarists with an extra quirk to their tone.

The build quality is pretty good. The metal housing of the pedal, although not the strongest I've seen on a pedal, keeps the internal electronics safe. I have had some problems with the power connector - sometimes it doesn't work and needs the power cable jiggling about.

I gave the features of the pedal a 4/5 purely because there are not really many features to this pedal - but thats the nature of a Phase 90 style phaser!

This is a great pedal for the price which has a permanent place in my pedalboard!

Bit of a faff

It's good, don't get me wrong, it does a perfectly decent impression of a phase 90, just like you want. Stick it in front of an overdriven tube amp and you are Eddie Van Halen (in your mind). But if you want to adjust the trim pot then you have to pull out the whole circuit board (which is kind of delicate) and fiddle about before putting it back together again, and realising you were a bit off, and doing the whole thing again.

Other than that though, no complaints, I got it because my ancient small stone was getting too delicate to take out to gigs, and I don't have to worry about killing this as if it dies, I can get another one for silly money.

Great phase pedal

I really can't knock the Harley Benton stuff. I mean, for the price point they come in at you get a decent quality pedal that's true bypass. Is it as good as it's competitors? Well, that's a tough question. Personally, I really like the pedal as the phase is quite subtle and suited my needs perfectly. If you're after something a little more aggressive then this probably isn't the pedal for you.

The pedal is incredibly simple to use, just one knob to adjust for all your phasing needs. The pedal didn't create any extra noise, and is well built, even resisting breaking under my size 13 feet.

I'd definitely recommend these pedals to friends and students!

Really impressive for the price

It sounds really good and how this kind of phaser should sound.

Metal case is sturdy, but the bottom is quite bad, i tried to attach it to my pedal board with velcro tape, and as i was pushing tape to the metal it bent inward .

The switch has cheap feel to it, but not like it would break or anything.

It absolutely is far better than the cheap behringer pedals.

If you want to experiment with pedals, or just want to buy pedal just because you have one song you want/have to play with this pedal and don't want to spend much money , this is The pedal.

It is 100% gig friendly and useable.

Why spend more?

I needed phaser for a couple of songs in my bands set, but didn't want to spend too much. After looking around for a bit I opted for the HB Vintage Phase for it's bargain price and simplicity. I wasn't expecting it to sound as good as it does and couldn't be happier. It takes no time at all to dial in a good sound as the core tone is about right to start with. It's definitely on the vintage side of phaser sounds and pretty much identical to the famous 70s style unit it's clearly modelled after, only at a fraction of the cost. So far it's be 100% reliable and I have no reason to think it won't last for a good while. All in all a great buy. Recommended.

Very nice phaser at a ridiculous price

Very nice phaser at such a ridiculous price it's a no-brainer in my opinion.

Sturdy metal case and switch, only one knob adjusts the speed, that's all you need.

Convincing mxr-phase90 clone.

Great Value Pedal

Love these Harley benton pedals. Inexpensive compared to mainstream brands so you can try loads of them but they still sound and perform great.

This is a good basic easy to set (only 1 control) phaser that sounds great in conjunction with other pedals.

As good as many much more well-known and more expensive brands.

Ok, my computer crashed so here's the basics of what I wrote last time without all the flowery details!

The sound on this pedal is very good. I have used pretty much every popular phase pedal out there as it's my most used effect outside of distortion. The sound is very warm and natural, doesn't suck the tone and the level does not change when the pedal is engaged. It engages without audible pop/click.

The top speed is not as fast as some other pedals out there but it's still a decent speed, it's also not as deep as some other pedals out there but again, what you get is more than usable for most situations that call for some phaser action! I've never really had to use the extreme end of any phase pedal as it's too much anyway.

Overall the tone is very comparable to the MXR 90 but at about half cost it's a no-brainer. And solidly built.

Just a few weeks ago I sold a very popular and acclaimed phase pedal as it didn't cut the mustard for me but I can see the Harley Benton staying in my pedal board for a long while to come.

Vintage phase

An inexpensive, easy operated phaser.

Simple yet awesome

This is the way a guitar FX pedal should be; one input, one output, one footswitch and one control. No need for more. It sounds great no matter where I set the control. Combined with a flanger and a chorus my guitar doesn't even sound like a guitar. Cool stuff indeed. Whatever background noise (hiss) there is is negligable. A noise reducer will do the trick. For the low, very affordable price the value for money is much higher than the more expensive "Made in USA/UK/Japan" pedals.

Buy it. Now. Or else.

Great phaser

This is such a good alternative to the mxr phase 90. It sounds exactly like it and I believe it may be an exact replica of the phase 90. This has become my most used effect, much more than delay and chorus, it's clear why it's so popular with Zakk Wylde, The Police and Van Halen etc. The quality of the pedal is excellent, it is also true bypass, sound quality is excellent, seriously 10/10. I would buy this pedal again it goes from a slow undulating phasing to serious whooshing almost like a flanger but not quite. Sounds great either clean or with a distorted metal tone which is usually what I use it for. Good for atmospheric effect. I can't express how good this is, even if it was double the price.
