Harley Benton Vintage Phase 5-stars Reviews
cool phaser
a really good alternative to the expensive phaser pedals out there. works like a charm, you can get a lot of good effects from it. solid built, good sound, no unwanted noise.
real great sound. Vintage all the way.
This is what you look for when you want a fat phaser.
Doesnt really looks 'hip' but the sound is.
Really really warm.
One knob but a 100 sounds.
So, spray it matt black, kill a worm or another insect on it and everybody wants to have this 'boutique phaser'.
This is a simple unit that has limited controls, but works well. I was looking at the MXR script unit initially, but watched a really good comparison video on youtube that convinced me to buy this unit instead. I only play at home with the amp on a neighbour friendly volume. It works well for me. The build quality is good.
Perfect quality/price product
This is the first phaser I ever had, I must say it works perfectly for my live needs.
I use it mostly in funky songs with an epiphone les paul studio, on clean sound.
It has just one controller, but for my purposes is enough.
I am very satisfied.
Just as good as any phaser out there!
You would hardly tell the difference, excellent value for money. Robust casing. Good job.
Phase Heaven
I was looking around for a phaser DIY kit. After a search, the Harley Benton phaser came up, and it was cheaper than building my own clone. It's now a permanent pedal on my board. Excellent little bit of kit.
Does what it says...
A very simple, neat phaser with a classic sound. The secret is the trim-pot inside. take the back off and make very slight adjustments until you get the sound how you like it.
The pros would be it's classic sound and its simplicity. The cons would be its lack of adjustment, but that's obvious and if you want that level of control then you wouldn't buy this.
Cool Phaser
Does what you'd expect
Subtle phase
Really nice, subtle, simple phase. It's exactly what you could expect from a simple one-knob phaser.
No volume drop, doesn't add hum/hiss and the build quality is good.
It's a bit bigger than MXR pedals but that's not a big issue for me.
Experimentation without breaking the bank
Bought to add to my pedalboard. Always wanted a phase pedal but could not justify spending too much on one. The Harley Benton phase is fantastic quality and does the job perfectly. Although probably not as flexible as a more expensive equivalent, I've had no problems with the pedal and I like its sound.
Solid casing and seemingly hard-wearing button. Highly recommended
Phase Pedal
Great priced pedal ....Strong case and nice ..sweet tones i use this will a Harley Benton Flanger and Overdrive to get a Hendrix Purple Haze tone play it into Marshall Stack
Hard to beat for the price
Bought this pedal because I need phaser just for one song in my whole set. I used to have behringer multifx pedal set to phaser, but this pedal destroys it. It sounds actually really natural and organic, reminds me on MXR. I use it in front of my overdriven marshall.
It is made extremly well, it has true bypass and metal casing, everything looks well made with quality components.
I've been using some of the other harley benton / joyo pedals for years, and none of them dissapointed me.
If you are looking for boutique piece of gear, then go and buy that, but if you need a workhorse, than look no further.
Great phase pedal
I really can't knock the Harley Benton stuff. I mean, for the price point they come in at you get a decent quality pedal that's true bypass. Is it as good as it's competitors? Well, that's a tough question. Personally, I really like the pedal as the phase is quite subtle and suited my needs perfectly. If you're after something a little more aggressive then this probably isn't the pedal for you.
The pedal is incredibly simple to use, just one knob to adjust for all your phasing needs. The pedal didn't create any extra noise, and is well built, even resisting breaking under my size 13 feet.
I'd definitely recommend these pedals to friends and students!
Why spend more?
I needed phaser for a couple of songs in my bands set, but didn't want to spend too much. After looking around for a bit I opted for the HB Vintage Phase for it's bargain price and simplicity. I wasn't expecting it to sound as good as it does and couldn't be happier. It takes no time at all to dial in a good sound as the core tone is about right to start with. It's definitely on the vintage side of phaser sounds and pretty much identical to the famous 70s style unit it's clearly modelled after, only at a fraction of the cost. So far it's be 100% reliable and I have no reason to think it won't last for a good while. All in all a great buy. Recommended.
Great Value Pedal
Love these Harley benton pedals. Inexpensive compared to mainstream brands so you can try loads of them but they still sound and perform great.
This is a good basic easy to set (only 1 control) phaser that sounds great in conjunction with other pedals.
Simple yet awesome
This is the way a guitar FX pedal should be; one input, one output, one footswitch and one control. No need for more. It sounds great no matter where I set the control. Combined with a flanger and a chorus my guitar doesn't even sound like a guitar. Cool stuff indeed. Whatever background noise (hiss) there is is negligable. A noise reducer will do the trick. For the low, very affordable price the value for money is much higher than the more expensive "Made in USA/UK/Japan" pedals.
Buy it. Now. Or else.
Great phaser
This is such a good alternative to the mxr phase 90. It sounds exactly like it and I believe it may be an exact replica of the phase 90. This has become my most used effect, much more than delay and chorus, it's clear why it's so popular with Zakk Wylde, The Police and Van Halen etc. The quality of the pedal is excellent, it is also true bypass, sound quality is excellent, seriously 10/10. I would buy this pedal again it goes from a slow undulating phasing to serious whooshing almost like a flanger but not quite. Sounds great either clean or with a distorted metal tone which is usually what I use it for. Good for atmospheric effect. I can't express how good this is, even if it was double the price.
