Harley Benton Violin Strings 4/4 Reviews
Excellent value for money
I'm an intermediate violinist. I mostly play for myself, and sometimes record my violin in a songwriting context. I've tried several brands of strings over time; some I've loved and some I've hated, but all of them have been expensive. These are not as high quality as the Helicore strings that I like, but they are a fraction of the price, and for practicing at home they are perfect. They hold their tuning very well.

Strings
I'm a beginner and think the strings are good for beginners
it's okay.
I'm not a violin player. I just need stringing up from time to time. this works.
Harley Benton Violin Strings 4/4
surprised by the quality of the strings. Very wide tone and soft strings.
High Quality
High quality strings - Small price
Good value strings for student violin
These were the first strings I bought and I put them on myself - they lasted me a few months before I updgraded when changing but they sounded fine and I was happy with the quality vs the price. Good beginner strings but not quite the best ones I've used.
Like the texture
I l ike the texture of the strings when I play them!
Decent sound
They are very good for the price. I use this for my 4/4 classical violin. The sound is decent enough and good for an alternative especially if you are on a tight budget and you can't afford the expensive violin strings.
Pros
cheap, decent sound, easy to setup
Cons
None
Strings that give a huge sound on the violin. Impressive
Poor sound quality
It is cheap but the quaility is really poor.
It is better to spend more money and buy Pirastro Tonica strings. Huge difference in sound quality.
Great bang for your buck
Standard violin strings, very cheap and not bad quality!
Good quality
Good quality, sounded fine and easy to put onto violin. Would probably buy again.
For such a price you get a good set of strings
These strings do the work, and for such a low price you could not expect anything better.
+ Easy to fit, no issue of stretching or coiling.
+ Cheap, and the result is not cheap.
- Somewhat ?hard? (relatively heavy tension). This is of course a question of taste.
- Sometimes I have some squeak on the E string, that I did not have prevously.
I would advice to clean the strings to keep the good tone, but this is true for all stings.
Weak sound
I changed these strings to my early german made 1900 violin, and it lost all brightness from its voice. Voice became soft and somewhat blurred. I changed them into very bright ones, which were then too bright; very metallic voice. So optimal would be somewhere between them. Nice learning experience though; there is difference in strings. Next time I consult professional about which strings should I use. Maybe E-could be softer anyway, but G should be brighter or something...
My Roth Master violin then has mixed set of spares currently(I have changed string by string when cut), and it plays just well, so maybe some violins are not so sensitive on string characteristics.
Very warm sounding and smooth to play
I bought these for the cheap price to use as back up strings and was pleasantly surprised by how good they can sound. They sound very pleasant and feel quite smooth to play. Very warm sounding. Perfect for anyone looking to stock up on nice strings at an unbeatable price.
Great value
I've got a cheap violin and these strings make it sound double what it cost. Maybe a bit cheap for high end instruments but nothing wrong with them
Reserve Strings.
Having a reserve strings set is the most ideal for any player. You never know when you might need them. Besides if you are a violin student this string set are more than enough.
Good quality strings for hobbyist
I'm not a serious violin player so these strings are good enough for occasional needs. They are very well made and cost next to nothing. Quality/price rate is perfect.
Spares
I always keep a pack of these boys in my violin case incase I break a string during a performance, I dislike playing with strings of different sge so I will not use expensive strings as spares as I would be changing them again after!
