Hercules Stands HC-MS-631B Reviews
the best mic stand for vocals
the handle's feature for rising the height is saving a lot of time of tightening the joint. and the mic clip can easily get it off by unlocking the safe lock. And it's not heavy at all.
But I will rate the stability of it for 95/100, the stand may shake a little bit .
great stand
I'm a singer in a gigging band and I wanted to invest in a good mic stand that didn't fall apart after a few months of use, and this has proven to be a pretty good choice. It's sturdy and robust and holds tight, so no chasing the mic around.
A slight wobble developed where the boom arm connects to the base, there was no way of tightening this, so i made up some epoxy resin and secured the offending piece, and it hasn't given me any other troubles. I've had this stand for well over a year now and it's going strong. If you look after things they look after you. When and if this stand does go I'll be definitely investing in another.
Stability issues
Issues with these stands being unstable where the boom arm is connected. Talked to other musician friends about these and some have experienced the same problem. It seems that it's an issue with the design, and not something that can be fixed. This is disappointing as the reason I bought these stands was for stability and reliability. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but was unimpressed. Still use them for every gig, but just more fiddling to be done.
Solid stand
No sign of mechanical ware after 10 years of use. Hercules is THE brand for stands that I trust the most.
The vertical adjustment mechanism still works as new. The base is heavy enough and keeps the stand well planted on the ground.
Can't really think of any cons about it.
Satisfactory Boom Stand
I have purchased quite a few different brands of Mic Stand and Hercules are a great stand maker however over time I have found their stands do become less effective at remaining in place (when adjusted to suit musician) and some of their fittings do show some signs of wear and tear after a few years of use, however still useable and they look the part!
excellent stand
Very durable and easy to use. I prefer the model that has the quick release adjust though.
Yes.
This is my third stand and i can say it is the most reliable than alternative cheaper stands.
Solid and sturdy
If you are someone who does gigs on a regular (i.e. practically daily) basis, then get yourself a decent mic stand. Seriously, it might cost you a little extra now, but it's worth it!
I bought this stand after a rather lively gig (to put it politely) where the vocalist was practically swinging from one of these stands. Positioning adjustments were done in a matter of milliseconds and the clip it comes with meant the mic could be placed and removed without too much care or consideration.
In short, if you need a stand that can put up with a load of abuse, get this one.
Best mic stand - use several times a week, every week!
I've bought a few different mic stands in my time, and this one has to be my absolute favourite. It's solid, well designed - but the best thing is you can change the length of the boom and the height at the same time, all with one handle. You also don't have to ruin your wrist tightening it up (as I've had to do with K&M stands in the past), as it's cog-like system is tight and secure with only a small amount of force. Very useful, especially as I have repetitive strain syndrome in my wrist! I've subsequently bought 3 more of these as I love them so much.
Ten years and counting
Own this and have used it at gigs for over ten years.
Simply a brilliant product, tough simple to use and really practicle and sturdy.
Hercules by name Hecules by nature.
Hercules = Quality
After having chosen the Hercules guitar & bass stands I gave a try to tehse microphone stands and the same quality is provided.
These stands are easy to set up, I love the thickness but lightness of it, and its handgrip makes it even easier to use.
It helps while you have to secure your mikes on a stage !
Perfect
My favorite Stand
hercules mic stand
I bought Hercules due to their solid quality in their other stand products. The stand is solid and materials are usual quality but i cannot help feel this stand isnt what i was expecting although it works fine: i like the one hand clasp to move height easily (great) I dont like the way the boom arm attaches to the main stand though as this feels like a flimsy way to solidly join these two parts of the stand. Otherwise a functional and effective mic stand.
Make your stand
This is a one good looking piece of equipment and durable also. It has a lot of features to adjust it to your own needs and it stays in that position. I'm not worried that mic will snap in any direction. I use a quick adjust height grip a lot when switching this stand to multiple users.
Good quality
This is a good quality, solid mic stand. I eventually bought this mic stand after having two cheaper stands brake at gigs. I wish I'd just paid the money and bought this in the first place. It's sturdy and reassuringly heavy (although not too heavy) and the adjustment screws feel strong and not like they are going to snap when I tighten them. Which has happened to me before!
I also really like the height adjustment lever which is so easy you can do it with one hand. Overall I'm glad I finally upgraded to a mic stand that feels like it's built to last.
great build quality and sturdy but...
great stand however the boom arm clamp will NOT go down at all making the boom arm semi clamped on wether this is due to a manufacturing default or design im not sure but i would not trust putting a heavy mic on the boom arm other than that it is a excellent mic i use it mainly as a straight stand for my reflection filter and the easy height adjustment grip is amazing
Dissapointing
Bought a couple of these - the quick release height grip is great however the plastic inserts in the clip on boom tend to drop out which leaves the boom loose.
