What a guitar!!!
This is a awesome guitar, especially the pubs and the tri -switch. Jatoba fretboard is OK.
Absolutely brilliant
First, the looks are amazing, better than on the site. The dark coffee colour and "flame" are gorgeous. Second, this is a very light guitar, which I love, with no visible flaw and perfect set up out of the box for me. The strings were totally spotless, waw! As per the sound, the possibilities are numerous, with 2 boost/tone switches (sorry if the name is different) beyond the usual 4 knobs. So this has become one of my best guitars, and I have many. I love this model, totally recommended.
PS after a few weeks, one of the toggle switches has a contact problem. Not the first time I get issues on the knobs or switches on 500 E Ibanez models, so I think they should watch out. Took down a star. Still a great guitar otherwise.
Modern Classic
Had this for couple of days and already this is one of my top favorite guitars. This beauty (and it is beautiful) just feels right to play something among the lines of AC/DC or Scorpions. Sounds sharp and tight. With most guitars I have problem having them sounding a fuzzy and having hard time adding distortion without adding fuzz. Here is no such problem - tone is clear as fresh spring water (if you catch my drift). On the bad side - it was hard for me to find right tone for heavier styles. In my mind this guitar is just perfect for blues/rock/hard rock. Pickups can be selected in all sorts of ways so you will have tons of settings to play with. I know I did. If you like classic single coil sound with more gain - well you can do that with this beast - but you will have to deal with some background noise. Guitar stays in tune pretty well and neck is on the fatter side so it shouldn't be afraid adding higher gouge strings. All in all - this is a must have. As always Ibanez outdid them selves once again.
