Amazing bass

I've yet to take it to the luthier for the tweaks it might need, but I'm already in love with it.

As for the ergonomics, it's extremely light weight. The bag it came with is great too. It's so light, along with the comfiness of the bag, that I even forgot I had it on my back. Not only does the bass plays effortlessly, but its beautiful sound inspires me to play better. There's also zero neck dive, since it's a headless bass.

The thing I notice the most, is how long its sustain is, and how well the chords and harmonics sound on it - they do not muddy up, like on my other basses, even on the low notes. The thing about this bass, is that its low end is very meaty, while also retaining clarity and definition, and its EQ lets you tweak the sound to your liking. I love the parametric Mid knob too, because every amps and speakers sound different, and it helps you adjust the mid frequency to help the bass sound good in any speaker. I also love how punchy it is.

I've yet to test this on a gig, but I have a feeling that it will be amazing. I highly recommend this bass. Some people do complain about the quality control, but I think I'm one of the lucky ones.

do not buy this bass

I received the bass and was disappointed in some finish issues. Took to a local luthier/builder who said the top is actually a picture. Not real wood. He recommended we let the bass adjust to our local climate for one month. The real problem with this bass is the intonation could not be set up. The distance between the bridge and nut was to far. In order to fix the bass we had to move the whole bridge forward just so the bass would intonate properly. After 8 hours of bench time I am still in shock that Ibanez would do this to a customer, especially considering the price. I got burned. Hope you find a bass that inspires you to play. I am still looking. Just as a side note I have been playing bass for 55 years. Charles
