Ibanez GRG121DX-BKF Reviews
Very good for the price
Guitar came perfectly intonated, straight neck, no sharp edges, plays good, sounds good, 2 years on and nothing has changed. Feels more like a $500 guitar.
great ibanez
Great entry level ibanez. comfortable. comfortable neck. beautiful shape. Excellent pickups for their price range.
Awsome guitar, not only for the price, but overall
Very good guitar, not for this price, but a very good guitar in general. Tuner heads, puckups, knobs and just the whole construction. Very good guitar
The Harley Benton wl-20 is way better for half the price.
I purchased the Harley Benton wl-20 way back in 2019 while being a complete newbie. I bought the Ibanez as an upgrade, but it doesn't compare to the Harley Benton. The pick ups are lacking and there's a lot of fret buzz at the first fret. Puts you off from practicing when you dedicate the time. The only plus point to the Ibanez is probably the plastic jack as it won't loosen. I'm speaking from a beginners perspective that likes to learn to play metal songs. Apart from that, no sharp edges nor QC issues that are common in budget guitars.
Very good
Best guitar for these money. I'm not a proffesional. But this is a very good for newbie guitar players. My second guitar which I use for a practice.
A good guitar for beginners and continuing.
The sound is good, everything is built from the factory, the guitar can be played almost immediately. But someone accidentally spilled a drop of blue paint on the fretboard, but it doesn't affect the sound as much as it does.
Recomended! maybe it a best guitar for this price
i bought this guitar like a present for my brothher, black color its poor( i want same model in white metallic)))
Good beginner guitar
This guitar is excellent to start playing, I really like the 5 way selector switch because it is fun to play around with. Great for rock and metal.
Awesome guitar
This is my first electric guitar. The sound was amazing and delivered fast. Unfortunately, I had issues with a cover of a guitar
Great for it's money
Pros:
- Design
- High output passive ceramic pickups
Cons:
- Varnish is not very quality, has little bubbles
For those about to rock... I salute you!
This my very first electric guitar. At the time of writing I have owned it for about 2 years. I play it 2-3 times per week on average. The guitar is very reasonably built. You really get plenty of guitar for the money. The only improvement which you should do after a several months is to swap the strings depending on the music you like to play. It will improve your learning curve. I have the satin black version. It does not keep a lot of finger prints. However several times I scuffed the coating as I was unwinding the guitar cable and the marks are really visible. I wish I bought the wooden version that would just deform without showing discoloration. The pick-ups are midrange and OK. They will get you a long way before you know what want and are ready to purchase a higher end model, or replace them yourself. Tuning wise the guitar neck and tuners are sturdy and I do not need to check them more than once a month. Last but not least the guitar looks sexy. It's the one and only reason why sometimes I cannot walk past by it in my living room. It just screams at your face - Come and play me! And this is pretty much how good tunes are born. Just do it and you will also enjoy the dopamine rush.
Nice
very good guitar, what else can I say, probably the fact that it sounds good, I just like it
This is my son's first guitar. He is happy.
What a steal!
For the low price this guitar is priced at, it sounds and plays fantastic. This rivials my old S570 DXQM for playability. set up out of the box was fantastic. Neck needed no adjustment. smooth frets and well crowned. only adjustment i made was the action height. Ended up taking a bit of sandpaper to the saddle screws as once set at my preffered height, the screws do stand rather proud making palm muting slightly uncomfy.
The included wiring/electronics are outstanding for a sub £150 guitar. 5 way selector switch is nice and smooth, and has a printed PCB with labelled pin outs, making upgrades nice and easy. The included pickups sound really nice, but a little muddy for me. I have a set of EMG 81/85's coming to replace these.
10/10, a must buy for any skill level of player.
This is my first electric guitar
This is my first electric guitar, I am delighted with the design, and it looks very high quality
Good Guitar
For its price, this is a wonderful guitar, well built, a bit heavy.
Looks great!
Not only for begginers
I was really surprised with the quality of this guitar. The finish is flawless, very good fretwork and nut. String action was perfect from the factory. Great tuning machines for the price. It holds tuning way better than a bullet strat.
Pickups are ok for the price, even though they are ceramic they are medium output. They also coil split so you can have a strat-like tone.
Cheap but work
I think that is a good guitar for the price. I bought this mini-guitar for my child (8 year old), and also I play it when I can't use my main guitars. It's not a high levels instrument, but it's very cheap and I think is good for students, children or traveling.
Best for the price
In photos you see the old version. When it will come, you will receive the newest version of that guitar. It will have written "Ibanez" on pickups. And what is very important: humbuckers work and as singles!!! That is an extremely big plus, because it can be perfect for both metal and jazz/blues. Also this version comes with new potentiometers caps
pros:
-Super impressive design. Among guitarists it is called "The Batman Guitar"
-Super nice matte finish. I have that guitar for more than one year, and the matte finish is like totally new!!
-Very decent quality
-Best option in that price category. To be honest, before buying it, i was thinking of having 3-4 guitars. But after I bought it, I do not want another guitars. For me, the design is the best I ever seen. Maybe after 4-5 years I will buy a Ibanez guitar in exchange of this "Ibanez Gio"
cons:
-The only problem I faced with is the fact that I had to colour the bolts from pickups, because they came a little bit discolored. But that is not a very big problem.
Beautiful
This guitar sound beautiful and does what i need for a heavy sound and tone. Restringing the guitar doesn't take long either as there isn't a back panel to remove. With also the fret board being quite narrow as well it makes reaching the strings really easy.
