I use these sticks for practice on an electronic drum kit. They are significantly bigger than the 5A/5B sticks from Vic Firth but in my experience they can still be used to play very fast. The added weight helps to strike harder and feels nice in the hands for playing the push-pull technique. Pro: - significantly bigger than 5A/5B sticks, but not too heavy for most players - weight feels nice for push-pull technique Con: - none Conclusion: Recommended for anyone who wants to try a bigger/heavier stick than the standard sizes.

I play drums in a heavy rock band and the rhythm section of our music has to hit hard - the Pro Mark TXR2BW are a big part of the sound of my drums. These sticks are rather heavy (naturally so, being 2B sticks) and that is what makes them great for punchy, powerful hits. In between heavy hitting I also do intricate ghost notes and delicate cymbal accents and these sticks allow me to do that with ease too - so they are not meant just for smashing the drums to the max. The quality of these sticks is great and they hold up very good - I think I haven't broken a single one yet despite the constant heavy rim-shots. I have been playing professionally drums for about 20 years already and In the past 8 or so these are the only sticks I play. The maple makes them pretty light although they are quite fat in diameter so they are definitely not as heavy as a hickory stick this size would be. I like the natural sound of the wood on the drums and the cymbals - the maple is way softer than hickory so if you are looking for a stick which is going to last long while playing heavy and loud music - this one is probably not for you cause is gonna break quickly and the tip is very small so soon you are not going to have any tip left. The Dave Lombardo signature stick is perfect for those with larger hands who want a 2B stick with a little extra length. It may seem counter-intuitive to balancing the stick properly, the wide taper at the front of the stick makes the stick slightly front heavy. Despite this, it doesn't feel like you're fighting the stick for rebound, so this extra weight towards the front makes it perfect for two things: speed and power! I wouldn't recommend this stick for anything other than Hard rock or Metal, because in any other situation you are quite easily going to overpower anything else. It may not be a versatile stick, but if you're a hard hitter who want's a bit of extra length to their 2B, then this is the stick for you.

2 years ago I tried for the first time these pair of sticks and I felt in love with them. In my opinion, the quality/price of this item is quite high and abosolutely not comparable with other bands. They are well balanced, long-lasting and perfectely suited for rock/heavy metal drumming since they are heavy enough. Despite this I never damaged any cymbal using them. Furthermore, the sound that cames out from the nylon tip is well defined. I would recommend them to anybody who is searching for an economic but good-quality sticks.

These sticks won't last for long, for sure. You might find yourself changing pairs more than once during a rehearsal or concert, maybe even between each song if you are a really hard hitter. Hitting the ride bell hard may break a stick instantly. But, I for one like having light sticks, and am using these for recording, and they suit my playing style well. The sound may have a tiny bit less on the low end. The attack is nice and suits metal very well. The tips works nicely for rides for this genre.
