Bright splash
This is a nice splash to be played with your hand, it is really bright and it sounds really big, you might have to be careful if you use sticks to play it, I broke mine.
I would recommend it for recording and small acoustic sets, I used to use it with my cajon set and it sound really good.

Excellent splash
Rich complex sound - this may not be what everyone wants from a splash, but for me it works really well. Loud, too - really punches through the rest of the sound of the kit when you want to add some stabbing punctuation to the sound.
