They say its not the guitar, its in the fingers...but sometimes it is in the guitar too! I have 5 other guitars but this became my favourite. I have 2x Epiphone customs and a Jackson KE3 Pro. The common thing with those is a rosewood fretboard. I don't know if it is the smooth ebony fretboard or just that it is a new fresh guitar but i felt it played much more smoothly than the others. Also, the Kelly with an SD JB4 felt harder to control noise. I guess it is a more trebly pickup whereas this has similar output but not as much treble so the notes come out much cleaner. It could be pickup height affecting that too. If you have guitars in the 500-800 range, this will be a nice upgrade. However if you are used to more expensive guitars, there are some limitations with this one. would like to have coil split option. It seems like a maple veneer rather than a real maple cap. Overall really happy with it. It has inspired me to play more guitar again and I am really enjoying it!
