JHS @ + review

If lead tone is important to you, this pedal is exactly what you need. You can dial in the exact tone and sound in your head with the versatile EQ and AIR controls. Can also be run at 18V for more headrome and more TONE!

Nice Distortion

The Pedal is good and has a lot of options.

Great tone, gorgeous red... worth checking out!

I was looking for a Marshall in a box as an alternative to my OCD and JAM Rattler.

The AT+ is an awesome distortion / MIAB. It's tone is in the same ballpark as the OCD. Frankly I wish I'd bought the AT+ instead of the OCD — it's got more tone sculpting options and is a tad less boomy.

Sorry, I'm not in the mood to type a long comparison right now.

Suffice to say that I'm not really missing a 3-band EQ on this. The EQ (high pass filter) and Air (dial high end back in) controls are perfect to get it to sound just right. The boost is a neat addition — it's not a dramatic difference, but gives you a little extra oomph when you need it.

THE GOD OF DRIVE PEDALS

This is my main drive! Period! Tried a bunch, I love also the Wampler stuff, but this for me was better for my playing and the fact that you can dial in the "high treble", makes this pedal super versatile. I used it with a DSL40C (with a Creamback speaker), great combination - you can get dark satchurated, and smooth lead tones. Used It with a Vox AC15, works well - granted, you have to cut the tone on the amp and the "Air" knob on the pedal must be taken down quite drastically, in order to have a smooth dark thick lead tone. Now, I am waiting for my Marshall Plexi amp and cabinet to play with this pedal, as I am not really a fan of amp drive, I feel like pedals are more friendly, and don't feel like I am dragging something behind me (this is what I feel with amp distortion). So yeah, by all means - if you can, buy this pedal, you won't be disappointed at all.

Andy Timmons and JHS. Not much to say.

I can get an awesome rock sound but it also gives me that metal touch when I need it in my band (Phoenix Clove).

Exactly what I was looking for!

I needed a high gain pedal with boost for solos. This does it all. Works perfectly with both humbuckers on my Les Paul as it does with the single coils on my Musicman. Highly recommended pedal!
