K&M all the way

Don't bother with any other brand. And this particular stand is brilliant, to me anyhows, for the kick drum. Reaches all the way inside through the front head sound hole if micing up the batter head from the inside is your thing. Solid stand base, and never droops with just a touch of tightness. Nothing worse than a droopy rod.

My new favorite stand for guitar cabs, bass drum, snare, etc. Super low to the ground and stable. Small legs that dont get in the way but suprisingly long reach for a stand this compact.

Extremely Sturdy

I've mostly used this for kick drum and guitar amp micing and have no complaints at all. It's an extremely sturdy stand and easy to make precise adjustments. It's the only low profile stand I'll go to in future.

Super!

f you need a stand to fit in a tight spot and et down low to the ground - this is just the job. I use it to mic up my didgeridoo, and I love it so much I'm getting another. Can't get a better recommendation than that!

Good design and build quality

I am using this to mic inside a kick drum. The boom allows it to reach as far as is necessary. The stand feels stable, and is small enough to not get in the way of other mic stands. Recommended.

I need more of this

I bought one of these few years ago to use it with a bass drum microphone. I found myself using it on guitar cabinets, combos more than any other mic stand I own. Basically every situation except for overheads or vocals.

It holds relatively heavy microphones in place easily when it is open all the way, and it's long enough to reach the batter head inside the bass drum if needed.

I'll buy at least 4 more of these.

Top-quality

Perfect for miking cabs. The base of this stand is very heavy and stable. Everything can be tightened securely, so that the mic stays in the exact same position.

Perfect for bass drum and cabs

It's the perfect stand for miking a kick drum as you can go inside the belt and use very heavy microphones like Shure SM7B.

Its very stable and you can get every angle you want.

Its a bit better than the Gravity short stand which is a bit less well made (the boom arm is better on the K&M).

Very recommended for cabinets also.

chunky and solid

I use this to hold the mic rock steady close to the guitar cab in the studio, and it is very good at that. The 3 heavy foldable legs with rubber feet ensure the stand is stable, and the boom is held firmly in place with the lock joint. It's low level, so takes up less room, and it has a reassuring weight that guarantees the mic stays put after painstakingly finding the optimal position. A few more euros than some perhaps, but worth it.

Quality Bass Drum Stand

This K&M stand is a quality stand, the best bass drum stand that I have ever used. Well constructed and built to last this stand is heavy duty and does not move about as it is correctly weighted. Can't recommend enough and well worth the money!

Solid, Not going anywhere

This small stand is fantastic. The quality is fantastic and the weight means I can relax knowing that my microphones are safe and not due to fall over.

Primarily using this to hold kick drum mics (going through a live engineering phase at the moment) so its always good to know if the singer decides to accidentally kick this stand he will likely break his foot before moving the mic out of position.

The Boom arm is another great feature as it allows the stand to be compact on the stage without the arm sticking out.

I did think about buying the slightly cheap alternative but Im glad i stretched a little more as this stand is really the best quality.

Stable and rugged

I'm using the K&M stand for my kick drum microphones and it's great - this stand can hold even the heaviest microphones nicely and evenly. The build quality is great - it is heavy and durable, everything about it feels solid and reliable. This stand will not let you down - built like a tank. Grab one if you need a solid quality kick drum mic stand.

One thing to add

Others have said enough about this and K&M in general but I wanted to add one thing. The legs on this are really heavy, making it very stable indeed. I've not done any poking around but my guess would be the tubes are filled with sand or something.

Great For Multiple Applications!

Initially I bought this as a drum mic stand, specifically kick drum. It could equally be used for a snare or floor tom as it's solid in a range of positions and heights. It's more recently been used by our guitarist to mic his amp on stage... Go figure!

The go-to brand for small venues

Having toyed with various manufacturers, both well known and otherwise, I can say that I keep coming back to K&M thanks to total reliability and value. They are not the cheapest out there but it is easy to make that mistake the first few times, thinking mic stands are much the same. Not true. Joints, hinges, fasteners - all are of superior build here and as a result they are not only more reliable (not slipping, folding or collapsing when a vocalist is mid-chorus) but also far more durable, ultimately costing less in the long run. Cheap mic stands are a false economy. K&M is the real deal.

Well built, sturdy and solid mic stand.

Even though it is a short mic stand, it will fully extend to reach snares the around 26-30" high, and can also sit low enough to mic your kick drum and snare bottom, will also work for cabs and amps.

Also, quite light weight, but it will hold anything.

K&M Short Stand

I've been using this stand for live kick drum mic'ing. I play a lot of pub shows on small, cramped stages so needed something low-profile and solid- this K&M stand meets that criteria perfectly. The legs are plenty long enough to give a good stable base, and you can tuck it away to the side of the kick between the spurs to minimise stage space. The boom arm has an ample amount of extension available. Typical of K&M, the build quality is fantastic- so far this stand has been subject to a lot of abuse but it shows absolutely no signs of wear and all still works perfectly.

I'd personally prefer the metal bar style fastener instead of small plastic knob on the pivot section, but this is because I use a heavy mic and the extra leverage would be really handy- the plastic knob is still great quality and doesn't feel at risk of breaking any time soon. Depending on where your kick port is, you might also need a slightly taller stand than this one- although this model is also great for mic'ing guitar amps, bass cabs and the under-side of the snare.
