Does what is says on the box

Kenton boxes are always useful and reliable. No complaints at all, and they just do the job required with no fuss.

It really fit my setup!

I have a Korg Kross 2 88 workstation keyboard that I use as a master keyboard in my studio. Korg has a combi mode that I can use to split and layer 16 different timbres from its internal sound and external module. I wanted to control my Arturia MicroFreak, volca sample 2, and some soft-synth in my laptop from combi mode.

Kenton MIDI Thru 5 does the job really well. From the workstation MIDI out, I can split the MIDI signal to those external devices and play it together in combi mode.

In summary, Kenton MIDI Thru 5 is highly recommended if you have multiple external MIDI devices (up to 5 devices) and you want to control it from a single source such as a workstation keyboard or DAW + Audio Interface with MIDI out capability.

Pretty good

I have owned this for probably 2 years now, and I have not had any issues with it. It's just plug and play. The build quality is not super great, but it's good enough for me.

Simple and effective

I use it to sync my synths through midi. Although MIDI din in general might not be the best solution for syncing synths as analogue clock is faster and much less (if no) jitter MIDI din is still a standard and cables are somewhat cheaper, this box does just that, great little solution for distributing MIDI to all devices.

Good

Reliable, no noticeable latency, and have not noticed a dropped bit. Quite rugged construction for what it is. Small and compact.

Big fun

Has been helpful for me in connecting my synths and maintaining clock synchronization. I m satisfied with the Kenton MIDI Thru 5 and don't have any specific areas for improvement. Easy to use without a problem ,I use it several years ,great little piece!!

Works great

This MIDI Thru box works well! It's got its own power supply. Only remark: it's pretty small and light so it tends to fly around or fall from the table when moving cables around

Parfait en Jam

Génial, le passage des informations midi fonctionne parfaitement,

Je l'utilise en JAM pour passer du signal midi de l'instrument master vers tous mes slaves, c'est vraiment top.

Aucun problème depuis plus d'1 an d'utilisation.

Does what it's supposed to do

I have a bunch of hardware synths and not all of them have MIDI-through. Also, some synths behave erratically when chained after each other. This solved my MIDI-issues.

Flawless MIDI-Thru Solution For Your Controller and Sequencer Needs

This dinky little MIDI-Thru Box works amazingly well, benefitting from its own dedicated power source and - in a small act of brilliance over its competitors in this size range - features five outputs, allowing you to hook up just one more device to whatever MIDI controller or sequencer you have running your setup. Robust little thing too.

Perfect!

Works perfectly, never let me down for a second. The 9v power supply works with any pedal power. Oh, and it's weight is next to nothing, but the case still doesn't have a scratch after a bunch of live shows!

Does its job

It has been a week, so I can't really talk about longevity.

But this item does what is advertised, the setup is as simple as it can get and I get no latency whatsoever.

I'm slightly worried about how easily it gets scratched, plus with its extremely light weight I have a feeling that it might not last. I definitely wouldn't take it on a tour or anything, but I guess it is sufficiently well built for a studio.

Does what is supposed to do

I bought the Kenton MIDI thru to connect my synth setup. I have not noticed any lag in the connection. Everything works smoothly, this product is of course a bit expensive but it is well worth it in my opinion.

Works great for my small setup

With this you can connect several MIDI devices to receive updates from some master device. In my case I use computer with Ableton Live + Focusrite Clarett 2pre USB with MODI out to this device , then I can connect up to 5 midi slaves. Works perfect, small to hide.

The metal housing thou had some sharp edges, so I filed mine with sand paper, to be sure I will not cut my hands. This of course is not a tech problem at all.
