POWERFUL

Small but powerful. This little thing can really pack a punch to your productions for your kicks and sub bass.

Little monster

I am using it together with mother 32 and DFAM.

Sounds amazing.

YES

I use it in my every production. I also enjoy playing with it alone. Sometimes all you need is a bass drum. It even survived an accidental drop (the internal speaker did not survive, but the Volca works just fine)

Just kickin' !!!

Once again, great Volca stuff. Endless possibilities to create whatever this machine enables you. Even managed to make it sound like a volca bass !!!

Busting some fat kicks to pitched noises

Korg Volca Kick is a great tool to create music in any kind of situation. I love how it carries so many possibilities in it. I am using it in my live electronic music setup.

Its one of my first analog music hardware and i love it!

Biggest plus: MIDI Sync possiblites with CV output is a lot of fun and creative!

Biggest con: The mini jack input can be quite a hassle on some stage/desk setups.

Great for Volca stack

Great sound, cool workflow and good enough build quality. Surprisingly high improvement of my Volca stack.

Awesome kick drum synthesizer. Use it for my techno productions. Much easier than searching for perfect kick drum from sample libraries :) Better make your own. Quick intuitive and result is great!

Most underwhelming Volca

Even though I'm a Volca enthusiast, to me the Kick is a rather underwhelming instrument. As a kick sound generator it has some uses, but I find the humble volca beats, with its 3-knobs engine, more suitable for most applications. Apart from that the Volca Kick can be used as a (sub) bass machine and as a sine whistle synth, and it's versatile enough to produce a few weird noises... but that's all.

The "accent" feature is too clicky, in an unpleasant way, and when the instrument is powered from AC there's a bit too much background noise.

My favorite Volca

This thing's a beast, I use it mainly with my volca sample to add that analogue oomph that I felt the sample was missing.

It works as a kick obviously but it can also do massive sub-basslines, there are also some good videos of people using it to play melodies via MIDI [see Oscillator Sink].

Pros:

Massive sound.

Same form-factor as the other volcas.

Fun to mess around on!

Cons:

Some blips at the start of pattern-chained sequences.

Relatively low feature-to-cost ratio (touch FX are cool tho)

Conclusion:

It's probably my favorite volca, for some reason it's simplicity speaks to me.
