Great sound, plenty of volume and very versatile. Removing the front grill can be a bit tricky the first time as it slightly clamps.

LD Systems Icoa 12A

This is a great sounding speaker. A little larger and heavier than I was expecting but great build quality. It is solid and very powerful. Really good value for the price.

Very crisp clear sound with plenty of bass,

They didn't distort once.

Almost perfect for this price

PROS:

Durable

Good sound

Nice to be able to choose horizontal or angled position on speaker stands thanks to the two separate mounting holes

Flexible connections

Basic eq

Handles make it easy to grip in any orientation

Possible to suspend them

CONS:

Very heavy

The small black hex key screws (or 'Allen key' screws) on the front grill are total crap. The heads wear off really (really!) fast. After a few times loosening and fastening I had to use a screw removal set to extract the bad hex screws. Luckily this worked without damaging the interior thread of the speaker. I looked online for hex key screws of better quality and replaced all of the stock screws used for the grill. I recommend doing this from the start. Just order this type of screws: Din 7991 M4x12 blank,10.9 steel (S2.5)

I don't understand why LD Systems uses these inferior quality screws. Especially because one of the selling points of these speakers is the fact you can use them both as floor monitor and as front speaker, by changing the orientation of the tweeter cone inside. So you have to be able to loosen and fasten these screws multiple times during the lifetime of the speaker. One would expect these screws to be of good quality to support these kinds of recurring adjustments.

Besides that flaw I really like these speakers. Now that I know which screws to use, it's no problem. I even ordered a third speaker last week.

Great speaker ,

sound quality excellent, a bit heavy to lift at my age but happy to suffer for my sound , the cover needs a hole at the top as do my Alto's , shall order another very soon , the tilt selection is not necessary, and needs a tightener as it spins around on stand. apart from that , very satisfied.

Great performance, but a little heavy

I've been using a Palmer Pocket Amp Bass, for a couple of years. Either DI into the console, or split into my backline amp. My band also uses an LD Systems Curv PS for smaller gigs, so when my backline amp came up for replacement, I thought of using a full range powered cab instead of a traditional back line amp, and naturally looked to LD to provide it. I'm very pleased with the performance for bass guitar. On occasion, I've also used it as a PA system for "unplugged" gigs, it easily outperforms the JBL systems that we were using previously. At 20 Kilos, it's much heavier than most similar alternatives, but it's worth it for the tremendous performance advantage.

Awesome speakers, worth price, really like them! Going to use them with icoa 15” subs. Works well, nice design, no bad words!
