Single Pocket Transmitter

Replacement, works perfectly
The original transmitter got knocked off my belt and the resulting fall onto a hard floor damaged the battery cover. I haven't been able to get the replacement cover to fit properly so I bought this replacement transmitter (I sometimes swap basses so when I do get the original fixed, it can also be pressed into service). Works well, sound is good.
Very good unit
This is one of the easiest wireless transmitters in the world. Well built, metal housing, with the strong metal belt clip. Sturdy construction spells quality. Buttons are little too soft on touch for my taste.. Would like them if they could be little stiffer. Everything else is perfect.
Line6 TBP 12G
I purchased this to add a second guitar to my Relay G90. It is solid, well built, and has nice features.
Ok value for the money
Bought a replacement because original one failed after two years of intense use.
Quality could be better. After a while battery cover gets wimpy and as result you get power down on transmitter. Using batteries that are just a bit oversized vs. regular does help solving problem. Usually that are the rechargeable ones.
Great spare
Got this to give me a 2 guitar switch ability on stage without unplugging etc and works great in tandem with existing G55 set up.
Second Transmitter for Line 6 G Series
This is an identical transmitter to the one included in the G50 and G90 sets. The case is, as you'd expect from this top end system, solid and all metal with a glass window LCD status display.
The transmitter carries the version 2 firmware, meaning that it can run in either the older RF1 mode, using 4 simultaneous Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz frequencies, or for use with newer units, the newer, encrypted, RF2 mode, using 2 simultaneous Wi-Fi frequencies; which was developed to be less invasive at venues where you have to co-exist with Wi-Fi or other radio systems. 14 channels are available in RF2 mode and 12 channels are available in RF1.
Connection is via a mini-XLR, meaning that you can use other leads with the unit, such as an alternate right-angled jack. The unit come shipped with a basic straight guitar/bass lead and two alkaline cells, offering about 5 hours use in high power and 8 hours in power save, more than enough for the most demanding gig and soundcheck. I use them with rechargeable cells and performance is similar although the battery guage is less accurate here due to the way rechargeable battery's voltage drops off sharply. The battery compartment has a push-slide lock and holds 2 AA batteries, making a welcome change from units using 9 volt cells. The unit has an extremely sturdy belt clip which can be used in a number of ways or removed with a single screw if being used in a transmitter pocket.
The antenna is solid and unobtrusive and the XLR socket is sturdy and will offer many connections and removals.
The display indicates battery state, power saving mode and channel selected. The menus allow programming of a 6 character name for the transmitter, allowing the receiver to display the name of the currently selected transmitter; handy when switching the receiver's channel between multiple transmitters. The until has a power switch, a mute button, two menu buttons and the ability to lock all controls, even the power switch, for super peace-of-mind in live situations.
Overall a great, sturdy and professional quality until that will provide many years of gigging, transporting and mounting/dismounting from the guitar strap.
A spare transmitter for my wireless
I purchased a Line6 Relay G55 wireless about a year ago, and I have been super satisfied in it. The relay normally comes with a single transmitter, and I quickly figured out that it would be nice to have two, for two different guitars. Saves all the hassle on a gig if you have to change the instrument which uses the same amp and such. I also use these at home, and it's nice to move freely when rocking around the living room.
This spare transmitter is similiar to the one which came with the receiver unit. I use two rechargeable 2300 mAh batteries, which last 10-12 hours - enough for any gig really. Of course, it's wise to also have normal batteries with you just in case. Both the receiver and the transmitter have a battery life indicator which gives you a clue when it's time to change the batteries.
I've played a few gigs with these, and I can highly recommend the Line6 Relay wireless to anyone really. It has a great tone, long operational range and it's highly reliable - there's never been any kind of interruption during playing, not counting empty batteries :). I find this product very affordable too.
Great wireless system
Our band uses G50 and G90 systems - we can't afford the really high end systems yet but having used some of the lower quality entry systems we just wouldn't trust them on stage. The line 6 systems seem like a great mid point. The G30 is a bit too plastic but the G50 and G90 are good enough for pro use. We needed several guitars and basses for quick changes so bought several of these transmitters to leave on each instrument. Each has 12 channels and is very easy to use - with an on and off that is recessed so you don't accidentally turn it off. Similarly there's a mute button. The newer units handle two banks called rf1 or rf2 - one is better for use around wireless systems that are essential (good for Home) or one set that will defeat wifi without sharing - this usually doesn't matter as the units seem fine with wifi environments but we use the stronger set up at gigs just in case.
Signal strength and distance seems to exceed Line 6 recommendations - even works well through walls and obstructions. Battery life isn't amazing but if you keep some rechargeables around you will be fine.
