It's not just pretty!

I'll start with looks - some of the Luna range are what I would describe as 'over fussy' in appearance, with too much detailing on the sound board. This guitar has the balance just right. The finish is flawless. Yes you might get better if you spend £1000+ on a guitar, but for around £600 with a very nice case, you will have no complaints.

The case covering has a pleasing paisley embossed pattern, there are enough latches and hinges and they work smoothly.I am suprised that there is no lock on the case, but that is not a major issue.

Playability - all 12 string guitars have to have stronger, wider necks to accomodate the extra strings and tension. The Vista Eagle has as narrow a neck as you can hope for on a 12 string, and the neck profile is chunky but comfortable, even for my arthritic hands, as are the body contours. It is very satisfying to play it picked ( the strings are close enough together to do so without a pick if you want a softer, warmer sound) or strummed.

Soundwise, the Vista Eagle delivers. You get the chiming ringing top end that is expected from a 12 string, with a full bodied punch in the lower mid range. The Fishman pre-amp and pickup delivers a clear and easy to tweak sound - I get the best results by using a combination of mic and the Fishman.

Overall, very happy with my purchase. If only the Vista Eagle 6 string was available in Europe and UK - I'd have one!
