M-Audio Keystation 61 MK3 Reviews
Good keyboard but no Expression input
I was happy with this keyboard until I realised there is no expression pedal input. Mapping the data entry slider to expression is simple enough but is no substitute when live control is needed and you're already using both hands.
Decent Budget Keyboard
This keyboard covers all the basics you need to start making beats; keys, pitch bend, mod wheel, and some buttons. The keys are a bit shorter than real piano keys, and become increasingly hard to press down at the top. The connection is a standard USB-B, but I would've liked to see a type C port. But for the price, you really can't complain.
Great compact keyboard
Great simple compact keyboard fits my desk perfectly, well made and with free software. Has enough features without being overwhelming and keys have a great weighted feel, would highly recommend.
Super portable and decent key weight
This is the most portable 61 key midi keyboard I have ever used. The included free software (Ableton Lite) was a nice bonus too.
Just what I needed
I was looking for a simple midi keyboard, and it suits all my needs. I was worried about how the keys were going to be, but they feel really nice (I’m not a professional keyboard player, though). The added DAW integration (Ableton live in my case) is a nice addition, altough I haven’t been able to assign the fader to whatever midi function I want, for some reason.
The best in this price range
The best keyboard on the market in terms of price and quality, soft keys. It's a pleasure to play.
Basic piano that can do anything.
it's easy to use. just connect your piano to your computer with just one USB.
Fulfills the necessary goal
My cousin wants to learn piano. He bought this. He is happy. The product is functioning as intended.
Not worth your money
Semi-weighted keys, yeah right.
- Horrible feeling keys
- Pedal jack input slightly ejects it's input. Still receives signal but the jack gets unplugged very easily.
Mod wheel and pitchbend wheels send out instructions on their own. My keyboard has been playing out of tune for half a year now.
Does the job!
I’m no keys player but I’ve used this midi controller in my studio every day for about 2 years and it’s never let me down.
I’ve used it for laying down pad layers and percussion parts mainly as well as the odd melody line. I like the key action, it feels comfortable to play. It has just enough features to not be confusing.
If you need a midi controller that gets the job done, then this is the one for you!
Great simple master usb/MIDI keyboard
Quite basic yet resistant master keyboard. Workhorse, solid, easily compatible and straightforward machine. Size & weight super convenient. USB completely fluid (same with MIDI). Very happy with this keyboard which I use as a 2nd master MIDI key to route to many machines. Not a piano-weighted keyboard, but for such an affordable price, it's a go-to keyboard.
Gets the job done
Nothing too fancy but enough to program some MIDI notes.
For better realism I would suggest fully weighted action
Good features
I used this for a simple two manual stack with my PC running hauptwerk, it worked fine the keys are a little 'clacky' not as good as my atelier but would expect that from a low priced keyboard compared with an organ costing over 20k. Was easy to sell on as they are in quite high demand.
Excellent cost benefit
The keys have a weighted feeling while similar controlers have thin cheap keys. Quality is very good, keyboard weight makes it easy to transport.
Brilliant!
Product came very well packed as usual and the features are superb!
Would highly recommend this product
Best value for money!
I bought it 2 years ago and I have been very satisfied ever since. Extremely simple to set up and works great with my KONTAKT libraries. Great for beginners as well as for professionals, highly recommended!
Good product, very comfortable keys
I would recommend this to someone with knowledge of playing the piano.
A beginnerâs tool
Worked as i wished!
Very good MIDI-keyboard
Really enjoy playing on it. The keys feel nice (not like an authentic piano, but that's to be expected for A. the price and B. the use). They really ARE velocity sensitive, and very accurate at that. So, if you're looking to buy a competent MIDI-keyboard for a relatively low price, the Keystation 61 MK3 is for you.
A very comfortable keyboard with a very small footprint for its range
61 keys on a small footprint, with just enough controls to make my life easy. The touch feels natural and the weight of each key is just right for me - not too heavy but with enough feedback. Classical pianists might want something more on the heavy side but for most keyboardists this is as good as it gets in this price range.
