Great competitor to focusrite scarlett

I bought this audio interface for use in my home studio and after 3 years of using it i have to say it exceeded my expectations.

The onyx preamps are pretty neutral which is something i was looking for, all of the buttons feel nice at touch, they are not wobbling but have some nice resistance when you turn them and the plastic used does not feel cheap at all.

I have been using this audio interface for almost 3 years now and had no issues at all. There is no noise or hiss, preamps are very good, the interface does not heat up and everything is working as expected. I was able to pull a latency of 2ms from the interface, which again is something very good.

I have to say that for the price, i am really impressed with the build quality of this mackie interface. It is a great competitor to the focusrite scarlett which i had the opportunity to test at one of my friends studio. They are very similar products but in my opinion the mackie just looks better with their black design, i am not a fan of the red scarlett design.

If i would have to choose again between the mackie and the focusrite scarlett, i would choose the mackie all over again.

So, overall, after 3 years of using it, i highly recommend it. Don't get me wrong, it is not a 1 thousand dollars interface with audiophile grade analog-digital convertors and preamps, but for the price range it really punches above what is intended for.

Very good audio interface

I really appreciate the quality of the produced sound with that audio interface, it has a lot of great potential in terms of audio design but I myself have got a problem of breaking the headphone jack port and sometimes my headphones are playing in mono but I am easily fixing it with just unscrewing the headphone jack a little bit so my headphones continue working in stereo mode. I don't know if that's some kind of popular issue with that interface but I myself faced it. But still, I recommend that audio interface as it gives the user sound which is just as good as focusrite's sound and it is even cheaper.

Amazing product!

I bought this interface with the intention of getting a cheap starter bundle for recording. Little did I know that this little interface would be as amazing as it is.

Positives:

- Great sound

- Well built

- Easy to use

Negatives:

None in my opinion

All in all, I highly recommend getting the Onyx Artist 1.2 by Mackie!

Clear sounds, basic product

Use this for bass recording and the sound is pretty good and sharp, latency is minimal.

Still, I'm annoyed by the fact it has no Off button, you need unplug the USB.
