Multifunctional analogue computer

Amazing features, solid build and versatility at its finest. Can be used as LFO, Mixer, Gate and even as an Oscillator. It is capable of managing logistic operations that are impossible to be achieved otherwise.

swiss knife in eurorack

great module with for many many purposes

Maths is excellent!

That's really high level designed module with a lot of abilities and hidden gems. I really love that smart universal thing.

It is a go-to module for adding depth to my patches

On the onset, it is meh, especially for a 20hp module. But it does get a lot of use to add depth to my patches, from modulation to some logic. I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do, but IT IS VERY USEFUL. 20hp is a lot for what it does for me though...

Intimidating at first but what fun it generates

I like the quirky design-choices of Make Noise. This unit is so well thought out.. I feel I really just scratched the surface of the surface.. using it as a basic lfo but as soon as you let channels interact and connect different clock-divisions it really starts to come alive.

Swiss Army knife

I forget that it can probably do a lot more than I use it for .. always inspired and a permanent fixture to my system

Everything-in-one!

What else is there to say? It does pretty much everything you could want from a utility module.

Eurorack workhorse

Great module, fully packed with features. Always on my patch, amazing envelopes!

It is true what they say

You need this in your euro rack.

Endless possibilities.

Nicely built.

Excellent and fundamental tool for Modular synthesis

this Maths module is raved about everywhere, exactly for the reason that it really IS so good and useful in so many different ways as to be indispensible to a good modular setup.

They send 2'nd hand module... totally unsafe and expensive when you compare with other websites

What is great: this is a Swiss army knife for any eurorack system, it gives countless possibilities for modulation and more.

You need to spend some time to get used to it, the interface is not pretty obvious, but it is totally worth it.

What can be improved: No manual inside and even a link to it. Of course, the ones who buy Maths are smart enough to find a manual and tutorials online, but it's not the ideal UX.

Best module ever

So useful, fast shiping and awesome performance.

The one, the only, the legend

See my review: is a classic that you can use in so many ways. Every rack should have MATHS (or its equivalents)!

Probably the no.1 multi-function module

The legendary and widespread Maths-module is famous for a reason. A perfect start to any modular system and a great companion along the way with it's easy-to-learn hard-to-master interface. It will help you out of every thinkable sticky modular-situation.

Maths really is the Swiss Army Knife of eurorack modular.

Maths is great. I use it primarily as an EG but when I'm done patching I almost always notice I've used up all the channels Maths has to offer wishing I had more.

I really just needed an extra Envelope Generator so I was contemplating buying Contour or some other EG instead of Maths. I watched all the videos about what Maths can do, read all the reviews, but I still wasn't convinced I really needed all the extra functionality... until I got it. I've had it for over a year now and I can't imagine a modular rig without it, although it's possible to get almost everything Maths does out of other modules, but you would need several to replace Maths' functionality.

As an EG it's really handy: snappy, reactive, flexible, ... . If you send a trigger into it it acts as a AR envelope and if you send gate into it it reacts like a AD envelope. I have an Intellijel Dual ADSR next to it, which is great, but when I can I use Maths. I really like how it sounds on 'acid' or 'pluck' basslines but it's just as handy on slow settings.

As an LFO it's quite versatile too as you can modulate the attack/release times and shape them any way you want. If you turn down the attack/release times you can get a decent sounding VCO which I use to modulate (FM for example) other VCO modules.

The end of release/end of cycle outputs get more use than I thought they would. I've used these outputs to make a sequence swing (by delaying a clock-signal) or to simply reset all my eurorack sequencers at once.

I've used the OR/SUM/INV outputs to sidechain a VCA to a kick or simply to add CV from 2 (or more) sequences.

If you're still wondering... Yes, Maths is definitely worth it.

What else can I add

What else is there to say about this amazing utility module. I am learning synthesis with the sound on sound articles and Allen Strange's electronic music. With my rather basic setup I caught myself often thinking e.g. 'Oh envelope followers are interesting, too bad I don't have one' Oh yeah, maths can do this. It keeps on surprising.

Very efficient, high build quality.

Maths is King

This is one of the most popular modules and for a good reason. There are so many ways to use this that make it necessary for any system.

Most frequently I use it as an envelope generator. I have to say the response is unbelievable. Also the scaling of the controls is very well thought of. Functions from Maths always sound snappier and more natural than any other similar module.

Build quality is great, what you would expect from a make noise product.

I came close to selling this just because of its size. But its quality and features convinced me to hang on to it and I never regretted keeping it.

Utility generator - Great value of options for price

In my eyes Maths is multifuncional in any setup. It's a beauty of a machine that allows to be used in many options including sound manipulation, clock divider, ADSR envelope control, mixer, voltage generator and you can even use it as a VCO. I would definately recomend to begginners as It can earn a lot of usability and will fit in any setup. Last to mention again the great value of sound quality for the price.
