Own one!!
I've been a guitar player for many, many years and decided recently to take bass playing seriously. I went to the local guitar store and tried many bass brands and varieties to find one that fit my goals and one that I could eventually gig with. I was leaning toward a Fender PJ-bass when finally got to play the Sire Marcus Miller P7 (hard to find a demo in my area). This thing blew away the Fender in my opinion (and I own many Fender guitars). Fit, finish, play-ability, sound, active/passive mode, EQ -- the works! Oh, and the price is way below what you would expect for this quality. I had to have one!! I only had to wait a few months (heh) to finally own one, but the wait was well worth it. I'd advise anyone to find one, play it, and see for yourself what I discovered. Sire and Marcus Miller have a real winner! Now, I need to watch all of Julia Hofer's videos -- you should too!
Unbeatable value!
After 8 months gigging with this bass as my primary instrument, I can say it is a remarkable instrument for the price. I must point out I use it exclusively on passive mode. Lovely tone with original strings, versatile and comfortable neck. I was expecting the need to upgrade the pickups, but I haven't heard the reason for it. When I change the strings I'm sure it will be even better. Only reservation for me is with the tuners. Not the best quality and quite heavy, with a tendency to 'neck dive', but it's not extreme. Swap the tuners and the bass is A star! It's a very decent bass guitar for professional gigging.

Great bass good quality. Nice sound.
Plays like a dream
This is a premium guitar that is very affordable compared to some brands. The attention to detail is immaculate. With all the options, if I just needed one bass, this would be it for its versatility. The neck is so smooth! It came with a perfect setup and I could not find a single flaw.
