Manuel

Bought this bass a while ago and so far I have to say I love it!

Looks amazing, the neck feels incredible (nice finish, rolled edges, nice fretwork, etc), pickups sound decent!

The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s a little bit neck heavy… Other than that, I absolutely love it!

More Than I Expected!

I have been looking for a reasonably priced shot scale bass for about a year. I am new to the bass and wanted to find one that was versatile as I am wanting to learn slap as well as tap. I looked at loads of short scales and was leaning towards the Music Man Stingray short scale until I came across the Sire U5. I finally decided on the U5 and boy am I glad I did. I am blown away at how, right out of the box, it sounds and looks amazing! The tone and feel of this bass is superb, sounding and feeling like a much higher end bass. I would recommend the U5 to anyone that is looking for a short scale bass that will not break the bank, but feels, plays and sounds like it did!

A joy to play.

Plays and sounds great. A little neck dive, but it doesn’t decrease the fun playing this bass. I had it shipped to NYC, and it came in 5 days. Great service.

Best Sire bass so far

I have owned V7, P7 Vv7 fretless, M7 and M2. All of them were good basses, but when Sire finally release a passive PJ and on top of that a short scale I just had to buy it. It ended up with me selling my USA Fender P as I do not see it getting any gigging time now.

I had to adjust the action and intonate the bass somewhat (it came pretty good, but not perfet) but after that was done this thing is pure gold. It surpasses my previous favourite the P7. Sound very good, perfect neck and this thing practically plays it self. Again, this is by far my favourite of all Sire basses.
