Marshall DSL5CR Reviews
excellent bulb amp
excellent to play AC/DC songs
good amp
I like this amp,and I received this package very quickly even in China.
Great combo amplifier! I bought it to play at home and the fact that it has a 1W attenuator is definitely a plus. I was very pleased with the channel switch pedal, it's just super. The clean channel is slightly lacking in gain, but nevertheless it is a good base for connecting stompboxes. The body itself is just a bomb, beautiful, dense, nothing rings, does not crunch. I am very pleased that I bought it.
Great amp
Really happy with it though, takes pedals well and the FX loop is a godsend as is the quiet mode. Gives you everything you's expect from that classic Marshall sound, even the simulated output sounds fantastic. My only gripe with this amp would be that the line input sounds a little quiet compared to the amps own output (which is truly monstrous). other than that, it's an absolute beast.
highly recommended.
Great Amp
I bought one of these for my son for Christmas, he'd been using a cheaper solid state amp previously and had asked for a Marshall as that's what many of his musical heros seemed to prefer. His Les Paul Tribute sounds fantastic through this amp, it sounded fine before but the quality and overall range of tones he has available now are really impressive. The amp sounds excellent on the lower power settings too and both clean and overdrive channels are very impressive. The amp gets used mainly at home, however I'm sure it could be used in a pub gig or similar smaller setting, the 5 watts it has pack quite the punch and if the drummer isn't too loud, I'm sure it would work well. Very happy overall, footswitch included is a nice extra, everything looks extremely well made and hopefully will last. It's not the cheapest 5 watt combo out there but if you like the Marshall logo and are willing to pay a bit more you'l have a smoking little amp on your hands.
Very nice entry level tube amp that has that classic marshall sound.
WOW
This amp is the ultimate one for practising at home.
The valves give a great warm sound reminiscent of 70's and 80's rock and metal bands.
Clean channel is pretty sweet. The dirty one though is amazing, great for riffs and solos.
I thought it was a bit pricey for only 5 watt but the quality is great, plus it has a decent reverb and plays on 0,5 watt in case you wanna play guitar after midnight.
sounds really nice
It's my first Marshall amp and I don't regret buying it. It only has three valves in it, but it delivers 5 glorious watts of beautiful harmonic distortions as I imagined it would. Power chords simply sound delicious :). It is built like a tank, the emulated output is acceptable when you don't want to use its speaker (you'll have to disconnect the speaker before turning the amp on in order to use just the emulated output, otherwise both the emulated output and the speaker will work in simultaneously, as I understand there is an internal load that is engaged when you disconnect the speaker). I think the 5 watts are more than acceptable for my current use in my apartment, I usually keep it on 1 watt power the volume pot somewhere between 3 and 5... no, it does not go to 11. I don't think the amp would manage to be heard in a club gig without putting a mic on it, if that's your objective then go with the 20 watts version.
The only drawback I see, is that at some point I'll have to replace the power valve and I wasn't able to find documentation on how to check and fine-tune the bias of the output valve, but I guess I am supposed to go to a dealer or tech to do this job... right :). We'll see that when that time will come.

really perfect for home, the ultra gain channel keeps its kick and crack even with the low power button on.
the emulated line out could be better tough
Nice Amp in your bedroom!
It has the iconic marshall sound for sure! The ultra gain channel, tweaked at your interest with a small amount of the digital reverb...nothing can go wrong at your bedroom jamming along!
Very good home combo
Very good home combo with the ability to play high gain without additional effects
TOP Amp
Loud and precise. Clean tones are fantastic and overdrive channel is typically Marshall – it can be comparable to big brothers. Happy to own it.
Great amp for home practicing.
I had previously 100W amp at home for practicing and obviously, you don't need 100W for this. So in the end of the day the amp didn't get much use and i was using headphones most of the time. I searched alternatives and found this 5W combo, that is ideal for this scenario. It's delivering signature Marshall drive, that is surprisingly juicy and full. Even 5W can annoy your neighbours enough. So i would definitely recommend the amp.
On 5W could be very loud (and you can use external repro). On 1W its enough loud and dont lose much power. Very nice clean sound and typical marshall OWD sound...
