Soft very pleasant sound

I bought this splash to be part of a mini hi hat pair, I pair it with a Byzance medium splash.

The sound on this splash alone is pleasant, and soft. The sticks definition is quite low (2B sticks, wooden tip), the wash is great - short but rich.

In the hi hat pair, I get a set with good stick definition, good volume, and an excellent wash from semi open hi hats.

...and this is so lightweight! I bring this and the Byzance medium splash in my tiny backpack , and I don’t feel them in there.

The tone of this cymbal is on the darker side, but it’s “musically dark” as in, it survives in a mix of guitars, pianos etc. I have used this in a rock, hardcore, metal setting as my main hi hats (with the other Byzance splash) and they cut through.

My only problem now is, I love the Jazz Thin splash so much, I now want the entire range!

Gorgeous gorgeous cymbal!

This, like every other other cymbal in the Byzance range, is a really gorgeous instrument. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It has a lovely sharp attack but also has that warm darkness that you'd expect from a high-end B20 cymbal. It's not washy or anything like that, but it just has more layers to it than an average splash. Really colourful addition to the set.
