Meinl 12" HCS Trash Stacks Reviews
For the price it's really good
It's a really well priced way to get introduced into stack cymbals
i would expect more
ok its cheap but if you have old cracken splashes maybe it could done the job better
Perfect little trash stack
This stack is everything I expected from it. I bought it as a gift for my brother, but also had the pleasure of playing it myself. We're both very happy with the sound quality (snappy, dirty, but no nastiness to it). It brings a nice, contrasting sound to the rest of the cymbals on the drum kit (crashes, ride, china, hi-hat, bell).
My brother is so impressed with this stack that he has decided to include this cymbal in his live kit.
Build quality is superb, as is to be expected from Meinl.
What a sound!
This small stack is a game changer in my drum set.
It just enlarges so much the capacity of sound in playing!
Sounds professional and at so low price! Simple “a must have” in your collection.
AMAZING Value!
Great build quality and great sound! Also sounds great if you decide to use the cymbals separately. An amazing deal value deal considering the price point. Definitely recommended!
Sounds Amazing for Price
This is a REALLY good stack, perfect addition to any kit.
A great addition to my setup
This stack is incredibly diverse, in my opinion. Depending on how tight you set it, the sound can range from a trashy china type sound to a trashy hihat sound. If you find the sweet spot in the middle, you can even get a sound resembling a clap. Even if that isn't appealing to you, you can use these cymbals separately. The China by itself sounds good in my opinion. Cuts through the mix nicely, and it can take a beating. The splash is alright by itself too, but it's a bit too trashy for my taste. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. I use it for all styles of music: rock, metal, edm, funk, you name it
An Actual Gem
I absolutely have to praise Meinl for this affordable, interesting stack. It has become one of my favorites and has really opened up my phrasing, offering an additional Hi-Hat texture, played tight, the attack and tone is very similar to a 'Clap' effect. Personally, I prefer to have the nut just about finger tight, so they can move a bit more, offering a bit more of a 'wet' texture. Absolutely invaluable, super fun Cymbal.
Decent cymbals
I got these to expand a small drumkit that i'm putting together and to be honest i was a bit disapointed with their sound as a stack since it's not very rich but i quite enjoy their sound as individual cymbals. The build quality is very good.
Even
Good sound, good quality and very happy that I bought them. The video of JP Bouvet helped me allot on take the decision for buy this entry-level quality cymbal stack.
Perfect Little effect cymbal.
Not as loud as my other cymbals but great for little accents.
And for this price there is little reason not to own one.
Meinl's Magic Nasty Trash Mash
I have start using this stack as part of my set up for the past month. They sit to my right, just above my 13" and 16" floor toms, almost opposite to my hi-hats. They can be easily mounted onto most single boom arms with a clamp. They can offer a new dimension to your playing and can be integrated into almost any groove, fill or genre of music you like. I find they work best played slightly open or looser, extending the decay a little further. The bottom cymbal can also be used as mini-china or o-zone and sounds equally amazing with a little more bite and sizzle. As a smaller stack, I was surprised how much they can cut through with a high-end attack and just how well they sit with my other cymbal choices. If you are looking to expand your effects sounds with cymbals at a reasonably price, these may be for you! The quality is to a high standard for what they actually cost, definitely good value for your money.
