Aside from the awesome look, these are professional quality. As with good Maracas, one has slightly lower pitch than the other, the sound is more pleasant and deeper than the cheap "children" Maracas - which I also bought 2 pairs of for teaching children and young adults.

Not your standard maraca but brilliant Much easier to play than standard maracas with a good weight and nice spongy grip. Very easy to control and to avoid the pre hit when playing the down beat on it's own. Really nice sound, and the variance in tension between my two maracas gives a nice variation.

These maracas are of good quality and being refillable makes them very modular as one can simply thread off the handles and put the desired grain to get any particular sound as needed. Always make sure to thread them right and not too tight as you will wear out the threads.

Good quality instrument, nice sound & plenty of it. However, I'm planning to paint mine to mitigate the screaming yellow; LP might want to be noticed, but I don't. I nearly didn't buy them because of the colour, but they were the only semitone apart tuned option in my price range. So as long as you wear sunglasses, they're a great pair of maracas.

All n' all nice round and warm sound, versatile with RnB, Rock N Roll such ass rolling stones, beatles etc... Very nice design and colour choice, as far a durabilty goes, it sure is resistant but not too blocky, especially when you wield them, bottom line nice product killer price.

Overall I am quite happy with this buy. I would just say that the 2 Maracas look like they have been tainted differently. So nothing wrong about them technical, they sound good. It is more the consistency of the looks where I was expecting a bit more. Once looks yellowish and the other one look whitish...

I am not a big fan of egg shakers in general, because usually I don't like their sound..it can be very pitchy and brisk. Nevertheles I like egg maracas more beacuse they are easy to handle I do not know why, maybe it's because of the handle that I found them more stabile in my hand...in my opinion they have a better sound than an ordinary egg has (I practically never use them as maracas, really holding the hanlde, it is because when I cover the most of the egg with my hand they achieve a better sound, so they get more dims). For a begginer that is in the process of learning different kinds od rhythm, maracas are perfect.

I confess i should have checked the specifics, i had wanted some larger or what i would consider regular sized maracas, but after some amusement at seeing this shrunken pair i got around to trying them out and was quite pleasantly surprised. The sound has good a edge and presence for such small maracas (obviously lesser than full sized tho ) and the contents are well controllable, perhaps only larger 'swishes' are less effective because of the smaller surface to roll around. If you haven't played maracas or you only require their minimal use now and again this could be a good place to start. They are acceptable for studio use - miced and recorded, probably not good live, but if there is a place in your music for maracas then their should be space in your music for maracas, so if...

Meinl make fantastic percussion, and where possible I always choose Meinl products because I know I can be sure I will receive good sounding and high quality instruments. These maracas sound fantastic, and are absolutely perfect in live settings to cut over amplified guitar or vocals. They have such a volume in fact that it can be uncomfortable to play them too close to your ear. My issue with these maracas is not the sound, but the quality. Plastic products I have had from Meinl in the past have felt sturdy and high quality, but these just feel a little thin and flimsy. There are also a few rough edges on the plastic where it has been molded. Overall these are great sounding maracas at a reasonable quality, I would just have expected better from Meinl.
