Behringer SD16

Very nice stagebox, does everything it needs to do. Inputs are very sturdy enough, so inputs won't come out themselves. As easy as plug and play from this side. We got this one instead of the S16, which turned out good because after all we didn't need all the configuration options and monitoring of the S16, because all of it can be done remotely by our Behringer X32. Works perfectly with a simple €20 Cat5e cable (higher will probably do too). At first I got no sound from it until I blew the speakers up by switching the little switch on it's side to it's correct position. Don't forget such little things :)
Midas DL 32

I bought the DL 32 alongside a X32 compact to give me the full channel count and also the slightly better Midas Pre Amps! The DL32 couples up seamlessly with the X32 compact, to give me the full 32ins and 16outs that i needed down a single cat 5 cable There were no problems getting the DL 32 working with the X32 just a case of selecting the routing options within the X32 and its just works! The build quality seems good and i haven't had any problems so far, all ins and out are on quality neutrik connectors so should last forever! I think this is a great stage box especially for X32 users, as for just a little bit more money over the S32 you are getting pro quality pre amps added to your Behringer Board.
Allen & Heath DX168/X
Based on 4 reviews
We're using the DX168/X to connect to an Allen & Heath SQ5. Physically, it's quite small - smaller than I expected and there is a rack mount accessory for mounting into a 19" rack. The setup was really simple, connect the SQ5 (or other compatible mixer) to the DX168/X using a Cat5/6 cable with ethercon connectors. Connect power to the DX168/X and turn on. Go into the IO screen and then select SLink - from here you can assign the inputs or outputs to channels. The quality is great as you'd expect from Allen & Heath and I don't see any con. The only thing to worth noting is if you chain this with some of the older generation 48KHz accessories, the DX168/X will also run at 48KHz instead of 96KHz. In this situation a SLink expansion card is probably the way to go so you...
Behringer S16

The sound is as good as it gets, and the protocol is so easy to use that it's crazy. You turn it on, plug it into one of the AES50 ports on the X32, and it simply works. Every time. No instability or strangeness - just works. I ordered two S16s, but one of them had a faulty power supply, so I had to send it back. That was a bit sad, as I had to dig out the analog multicore the following concert to cover the last inputs. One of our helpers even managed to dig through the multicore with a shovel, so it lost a few channels. Had it been a CAT-5 cable, we could have just replaced that one cable cheaply. What that also tells, is that of course Behringer cuts some corners even on these a little bit more high-quality products. I have an older Behringer mixer, which also had a power supply that...
Behringer SD8
Based on 9 reviews
I use this in conjunction with my X32 Rack, the reason I opted for the SD8 - 8 channel input version rather than the SD16 was because both units have 8 Outputs and i needed more outputs for 'Front Fills, Delay speakers, Subs, Stereo IEM mixes, etc' more than i needed 16 additional inputs (although they wouldnt hurt). On the stage, I place my X32 Rack near the drummer where all the drum mic signal cable, backline signals (such as guitar amps, bass di line) and Wireless mics go directly into the X32 Rack. and it also outputs to the Wireless IEMS and drummer mini mixer for monitoring. and meanwhile the SD8 takes in Signals from The wired vocal mics in the front end of stage, acoustic guitar plugs right into the Hi-z input, and all the floor wedges(4units) are outputed from the SD8 aswell...
Allen & Heath AR2412

24 input, 12 output rack for the GLD-80 / 112. Well made, Neutrick XLR's, mine has worked flawlessly thus far! Comes with a nice quality cat5 patch lead for connecting to the desk if near by, patch lead is around 2m long (could have done with a short 30cm lead also for patching to an AR84 in the same rack as the patch lead is far to long for that). Not much else to say if you've a GLD system this is the rack you need! Only negative points I can thing of are the plastic feet aren't easily removed without opening up the unit (to rack with a 84 below it, they can get in the way) and the IEC input does not have a locking connector or clip to keep the power connector secure.
Behringer S32

When i Got this i flightcased it with a rack light. Absolutely love it. Cat 5E in and away you go. When using Cat 5E Always use a long enough cable up to 90m as far as im aware . My experience of joining cat 5 cables even using the proper neutrik joiners has not being good. I have brought up this point with Behringer and they said they never tested the joining of cables on this product. It works flawlessly if you use a cable directly from the desk to the unit. I have a cat 5 multi with a stage box at one end and tried to use a 5m patch lead from the stage box to the S32 but the audio keeps stalling. It only ever happens when i join a cable. Its only an advisory note so you dont get caught out. The unit is great and a much better buy than the S16s
