Fischer Amps In Ear Amp 2
Based on 4 reviews
I decided to use in-ear monitors , because of the size of band I play with, there are so many open mics that wedge fold back causes so many sound issues. I looked at wireless in ear, but the frequency response is poor compared to wired, (unless you send BIG money), because I'm a drummer wireless wasn't really necessary . After comparing specs of just about every wired system I could find, I chose the Fischer Amp2. The ability to pan the channels or just have a mono mix, was ideal for separating the band so I have a more natural soundstage in my ears. There is an aux input, so I can add a click track without using up a stereo channel, and I can adjust the aux level independently of the main mix. There is an output for a low frequency transducer ( ButtKicker )with a built in crossover. I...
Allen & Heath Me-1
Based on 3 reviews
We use these for our church so each instrumentalist has the control over their own mix. They are fantastic build quality, the sound quality is also very good and it allows for full flexibility from the musicians point of view. Very easy to setup and was "plug and play" into our current QU-32 system. The documentation was good on the me-1 side but I was missing a note on the fact that they use the QU-32 direct out. This did take a moment to figure out how to setup all the inputs I wanted as well as setting the direct out to be pre-fader and not to follow the mute. Overall I am very happy with these products and would recommend especially if you already using an Allen & Heath mixer like the QU.
Fischer Amps In Ear Body Pack XL
Based on 2 reviews
This is a very good unit. It's very simple to operate and is built very strong. The sound is excellent and there is plenty of headroom for when you have to do louder shows. The same day it arrived I used it at a hotel gig with my quartet with one FOH speaker and later in the evening on a show with a 15 piece band with lots of floor wedges. It handled both extremes very well. It has all the features I wish that my Rolls PM50s and my Behringer PowerPlay P1 had. I wish it had combo jacks on the inputs but a D.I. box or adaptor works fine. The battery life is pretty good. My first gig was from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm and the second was from 11:00 pm to 2:30 am. Add that to the time I spent with it at home checking it out and I'd say, that It's good to know that with a fresh battery that I...
Midas HUB4
Based on 1 reviews
With one or more Hub4s between M32 and DP48 you add not just the ability to power the DP48s... not just the sending of all the channels to the DP48s... not just the ability to take the audio outputs of the DP48s to IEM transmitters... but also the ability to route the outputs back up the AES50 adding in extra channels from Stage Connect. So what's not perfect about it? 1/ The Talkback buss on the DP48s (which goes through the HUB4) is not routable back to the FOH desk. 2/ The routing is fixed to buttons rather than configurable through a connected computer.
Behringer Powerplay P16-M Personal Mixer

We have several of these units in our studio and even take them out on the road to festivals, where they find themselves parked next to the drum fill for instance. We have even used one as a surrogate on stage monitor station together with an iPad to get a listen wedge for the monitor engineer on a small outdoor gig! The sound quality is better than you may expect, and is even capable of driving headphones at 400 Ohms impedance, although for drummers we tend to use 32 Ohm cans just to get the headroom and level. The unit is well built and has a feel of being tough enough for life on the road. I have accidentally dropped one once onto a carpeted floor and it survived! It takes literally 30 seconds to explain to any musician how to use and the stress and time this saves the engineer,...
Fischer Amps In Ear Stick

I by now have 8 of those units in a rental setup. The first one I bought 7 years ago. I'm very happy with the sturdiness of the Fischer amp. They all still work very well despite not always being treated so well. Often they get placed on the floor and people literally step on them. Or the musicians forget about them and walk of, still connected with the cable. This resulted that the Fischer Amp got pulled out of a pocket and fell to the floor. This happens frequently. The sound quality is much better than the Behringer version of it, according to the musicians. I enjoy the stereo feature and the switchable headphone resistance. The 2 AAA Batteries last for a very long time. I often had them in for more than 10 Hours. There are two points where Fischer could improve the design a bit more:...
Behringer Powerplay P16-I Module
Based on 7 reviews
I use Cubase with 3 x MOTU 2408 audio racks. 72 inputs and outputs in total. I wanted a flexible headphone monitor system to allow performers to each have their own mix. After a lot of thought, the Behringer P16 seemed to be the answer. By use of groups, I can send 16 streams to each unit and they can each have an individual mix. The P16-I is the interface that converts the ADAT (or analogue) signals from my audio interfaces into an Ethernet stream that can be passed to the P16 mixers. The front panel has 6 connectors for direct connection to 6 P16 mixers. Or you could connect 6 P16-D expanders allowing up to 48 mixers to be connected! There are also sensitivity controls for the analogue inputs. These are useful if you are connecting to direct analogue outputs from an analogue mixer for...
Behringer Powerplay P2
Based on 102 reviews
P2 is a much better than a P1 amp in both: size and power. It is much more comfortable to use it for a standing setup, because, it is not as bulky as P1. If you make a custom cable 2 xlr mono > 1 xlr stereo it works as a stereo amp flawlessly. And thats the only thing that is better on the P1. Power of the amplification and the power consumption is way better than it's bigger brother. 9v batteries on the P1, can hold not more than 1/3 time of this AAA battery setup.. Its superb. Quality batteries hold up to 10gigs (±2hours of playing thru the night) for me. While the P1 is not as loud and powers up on a single battery only for ±3 gigs.. It has a good headroom (much more louder than a P1) for playing with a loud band and setting up a powerful headphone mix. 2 things, that...
Rolls PM 351
Based on 5 reviews
I bought this to use with my in-ear setup in liver performance. I have one input from my vocal mic, one from my guitar and one as an overall mix from the desk- it works perfectly! The sound quality is excellent and the item is robust. I also like the fact that it is very compact and the features it has makes it so easy to cable everything up. My only wish would be for the instrument input to be XLR or Line so that you have a choice, but, I have got around this by running my guitar cabinet mic through a small valve preamp first and then a line level out into the Rolls PM 351- works a treat!...
Rolls PM 50se Personal Monitor Amp
Based on 5 reviews
We have a set of these, and some Rolls PM351 boxes and a couple of the PS16 boxes. Each person can independently add more of their own mic (and with the PM351, mic and instrument) to whatever monitor mix is available. You could build a decent in-ear monitor system for a whole band with just these and a FOH feed, even better if you can send a couple of monitor mixes from the mixing console. Users and sound techs need to know there is no limiter built in to these, so to be careful when plugging/unplugging mics etc.
