Millenium FY-2 Floppy Stick Rods Reviews
Favourite Sticks
Love these sticks. Fantastic sound and sturdy
Rebond surprenant mais tres efficace
worth it.
these are great if you want to pick up a pair for practice or acoustic jams. the quality is good and the price is affordable. recommended for sure.
Great value rods
I really enough these rods. The red rigs are easy to adjust. the size is comparable to "normal" drum sticks; 410mm long, ~14mm "diameter". Grip is rubberised, and sort of sectagonal - very comfortable.
Amazing value
I needed these rods for practice. Good quality and value for the price. As a value proposition these do very well but there are better options out there however they are more expensive.
Pretty good
For beginners wishing to try out rods these are great.
Not a bad quality and lasted long enough.
For semi-serous players I would recommend spending a little more and going for Promarks though.
Floppy indeed
There is something magical about these sticks, even with their funny floppiness. They made me play in a certain way, which inspired me to create funny beats. Overall quality is good, durability seems to be decent and value is excellent.
Used for quite drums
I use these for practice with the band. They are quite durable and the sound is lessened quite a bit. Also, they are durable enough that it's not a two-weekly change of sticks.
The rubber rings do slide up after a while of playing, so sometimes they fly off.
Good value for money though
Good price /quality
They are well made and have good materials
Very nice
Good and sturdy, nice crispy sound
they work
they work just as they are supposed to, i have nothing to be unhappy about.
Ok but could be better
They are quite good but the rubber comes off and the rods are already starting to fray. But good enough for casual use.
Cheap but decent quality
I'm not a drummer, but I help run a music project for teens & young adults. The young people who use these floppy drum sticks seem to like them fine. And those of us listening are delighted that they produce less volume than normal drum sticks ;)
Great practice sticks
Excellent for reducing overall volume and still being able to get a decent quality sound
Nice but don't last
The rubber sleeves that hold the bundles together fly off too easily. I replace them with simple rubber bands which work much better.
better than hot rods
hard to believe but these are better than hot rods which are twice the price. I'm not sure if it's just the way mine have gone but there's a nice flat space on the handle end that makes it easier to play.
very durable for this type of stick
only minus is theres no rebound when playing swing on the ride but that can't be helped.
Nice rods for the prize
Easy to play, light, responsive. You can't do big dynamics with them though. they sound good on hats and snare, but pretty bad on toms and cymbals. I find it really hard to lead on ride cymbals because the volume they produce is really low (I have the 18" and 22" AAX omni).
The two red bands that hold each rod together slip easily after playing them for a while. If you are more of a hard hitter and you naturally swing your hands more you will often find yourself looking for these red bands on the floor around the kit.
The quality of the rods is good, I thought they would shatter easily, but they are holding up quite well after several months of usage. they chip on the top edges a bit, but that is well expected.
Overall, I would say, if you haven't played with rods and you want to buy a cheap pair for the first time, these are a good starting point. Also, if you don't often have to play quiet gigs, you can rely on these.
Can't fault them
These do what they promise. I'm not a fan of hot rods but when it needs to be quieter it needs to be quieter. These will help you achieve that.
Rods for everyday
Nice pair, well made and consistent. Cheap and very good.
Brilliant built quality
Great product at great price.
Playing with these on your acoustic drumkit produces low sound level to match other acoustic instruments when playing on bands where amplification is not offered.
