Lovely

Amazing stuff from Millennium! Steady, great materials..no need for a more expensive stand.

Good for the price!

If you need a short stand for drums/cabs/guitar etc, and you're on a budget, this is perfect.

Pros:

Cheap and sturdy, mostly made of metal

Cons:

Feet are very plasticcy, says that they could potentially mark hard surfaces.

When fully extended, the stand isn't as stable.

The end of the screw for boom arm length adjustment directly touches the painted inner boom, marking it when you tighten it.

Probably better than the other cheap Millenium stands

I have a project studio/rehearsal room, so I need quite a few mic stands, and as it often happens by Murphy's Law, you'll need 8 at the same time when you just have 3-4 good ones.

For this reason, I bought several cheaper/lower quality stands, including plenty of Millenium ones.

It seems to me that the 2002 is the best of the bunch among cheap ones. The shorter stem results in additional sturdiness (relatively!). Besides, this height is just right for drums, percussion and most winds. It would also be good for amps, but personally I prefer other systems for that (clamps, mics hanging from their "tail", etc).

The normal footprint and low weight of this stand can make for unstable equilibrium. I would advise against using it with your boutique condensers, especially if the boom is extended. Well, common sense I guess.

Bottom line: A serious stand, suitable for real live use, weighs and costs 2-3 times as much as the 2002. Considering this, the 2002 remains a useful and reasonably priced addition especially as a spare/backup - while still 50% more expensive than the taller, flimsier and nearly useless 2005.

Ok for the price

Very cheap mic stand.

If the stand is used as drum mic holder, that does not need to be put away, it works great.

I used two of those as a stand for vocal mic and the first one broke (at the elbow) the third time it was on the stage. The second one did not last for much more.

I gues the price - quality holds form this one too!

Tightening required washers

Washers needed on main Y axis tightener, used a thick washer, otherwise great. Sturdy and well made

Wobble wobble

This is by far the weakest stand I own and regret not sending it back.

It is hard to get it to stay still and as soon as you think you've got it, another part moves.

I don't recommend this to anyone, unless you like a challenge.

Great for the Price

A well constructed mic stand. I have bought a couple of these for use with mic'ing up acoustic guitars and drums.

Perfectly functional for light use, or holding mics in place for a long time.

They probably wont survive heavy road use. But that is not what I bought them for.

For the price, not bad at all. stretches out to a good height and works well for what I use it for. Snare, Hi-Hat, Lead Guitar mic.

I was impressed with this stand, I bought 2 as spare.

Millenium MS 2002 Mic Stand.

At this price level it a great buy, not suited for life on the road,but leave it in your home studio, and once set up should give you years of service. Just assemble carefully leave it where you want it and forget about it. Lightweight on your pocket and in construction ideal for home use at this price you can't really complain. If you need something to withstand a life of gigging then something heavier built but much more expensive is in order. All in all a good little stand for the money.

Quality and cheap

These don't feel the strongest quality, so I won't depend on them for live use, but in a studio setting they are fantastic. They extend quite far and the arm allows you to tighten the grip very securely.

I have no problems using this stand with heavy mics such as the Lewitt 640REX when you counter-balance it with the telescopic arm.

Good for the price

It's good if you take care of it really well.... If you are rough it will become unstable really fast. I'd rather go for K&M stuff but this will do to. Good for micing guitar cab for example.

Great for light studio use

I use these in my studio as they're a great height for tracking acoustic guitar. I wouldn't necessarily take these out on a gig as I'm not sure how they would hold up being thrown around in a van but for studio use they're hard to fault for the money. \

Good mic stand, great value!

Hello to everybody, we use this stand every day for studio aplication or live sessions.

Nice weight, okay stability, quallity, handling. I definitely recommend this product and will buy it again and again when we need it. Be carefull with screwing, sometimes you can damage it with too manually tighting.

Price is totally best on market.

A bit flimsy

I'd say that it's a bit flimsy at worse. It's not a bad product at all, especially considering the price but I'd opt for something more expensive next time.

The 3 legs are sort of weird with 2 of them being longer than the 3rd and it makes for awkward placement in tight spaces. Also, the thing that tightens the microphone to the stand is really easy to get loose and I had to keep re-tightening it.

Just save a bit and get something higher quality. You'll not regret it in the long run.

If this is the only stand you can afford just know that you will have some issues.

Not good.

I guess i had it coming. I got what i paid for. Should have pay a little extra to get a better one. Poor quality, shakes all the time and had to do a little repair with screws.

Good quality stand, I've used this to mic both bass drum and guitar cab and have no complaints whatsoever.

Great value stand

We have some K+M stands, and now this little fella, it's a good quality piece of kit, not quite up to the same standard, but I'd be happy buying another (this one was to mic a cajon). Also, it's about 1/4 of the price! So yes, good purchase
