Millenium SD-120 C StudioDesk 5-stars Reviews
Amazing
UK customers, for your information, this unit arrives on a palette delivery and took 8 days in my case from date of despatch. First thing I noticed- the panels and internal packaging were a little wet when unboxing mine! The outer box was dry...no idea what's going on there, but a quick wipedown and all was well...perhaps someone was packaging it in the rain, or maybe the fire sprinklers came on in the factory...?! Tools - Hex key is included, you just need a screwdriver for some parts, that's it. Height adjustable - this is a nice touch and should make it suitable for almost anyone. If you also have an office chair that is adjustable, even better, you should be able to find a setting somewhere in between them that works for you. colour - mine wasn't so much cherry as a rich golden amber, which is actually quite lovely and looks much more expensive than it is, so that was a bonus in my book, but if you're fussy about your wood colours or want to match other cherry furniture, you might need to take that into consideration. The light weight of the wood panels is really the only thing that gives away its budget status but once assembled, you can't tell anyway and the whole unit is absolutely rock solid, as strong as my previous Omnirax (which was worth about £800 back in 2008) The assembly instructions are nice and clear, however the pictures flip in some sections between front and rear view. This caught me out and I put in the rack walls upside down initially! So look out for this, otherwise all perfectly well presented and neat The 19" racks use the smaller screws that desks like this often use, rather than the larger type that standard 19" racks use, but hey they give you some in the box to get started (with washers!) and if you need more, you can take one of them to your local hardware store to match up more the same, so it's really not a problem. Slidey shelf - Solid, nice smooth action and doesn't rattle from side to side like my old desk. Perforated shelf - that perforated panel you see under the sliding shelf is actually a shelf where your external power supplies can sit, so they're not hanging in mid-air... such a thoughtful feature! Another handy feature is the two headphone hooks on the sides, someone is really thinking about how a desk like this is used in the real world...how many times do you see headphones lying around with trailing wires looking messy on a desk like this, because there's nowhere else to put them?! Conclusion : if the desk fits your criteria but you're suspicious of the price, don't be! Honestly I felt the same way, but decided to try it anyway based on the good reviews (plus it's not too much money if things went horribly wrong) but I'm very glad I went for it, it's brilliant. Absolutely delighted with it and a total bargain
Great for the price!
Pros:
-insane price for what you get
-compact enough for home studios
-nice looking
-actually pretty good quality on mine, especially for the pricepoint
cons:
-a little too high for the monitor, I am tall (1m96) so that doesn't bother me too much, but I have to raise my chair higher than usual which makes me hit the keyboard drawer with my legs sometimes.
Outstanding value
This desk suited my needs perfectly for setting up a secondary mixing station in a different room from where i usually work. I was able to put it together on my own in about 60 - 90 minutes and it feels completely rock solid. The racks and sliding keyboard drawer do what they need to and do it well.
Little metal shelf on the back end is helpful for keeping power and speaker cables tidy and out of the way and headphone hangers on each end are handy for headphones, patch cables etc and other things you need within reach.
There is a slight disparity between the level speakers sit at when on the top shelf and the height you need to adjust your chair to, to get your legs in under the desk, but buying freestanding speaker stands for behind the desk would solve this problem easily, if you need to always be in the "sweet spot" for critical listening and long mixing sessions. Try and find a better studio all in one desk at this price point. You probably won't.
Quite nice table for the smaller homestudio
When i started my homestudio a few years ago, i used an ordinary officetable for my computerkeyboard, Push 2, loudspeakers and a few midi-controllers. I dont have a big studio at all, but this fine desk meet my demands quite well, and besides that i like the look and feel of the wood. Its cherryish. The table comes with an assembly manual. I was a little surprised how easy the table was to build. All items for the table are named with a number or letter, aud due to the easy manual, i managed to get the table ready for use in less than 30 minutes. The table comes with to rooms for rackmounting, one plate for your compouterkeyboard and mouse and one plate for other items like PUSH2 or midi-controllers. The table fits the demands for any smaller homestudio.
Brilliant Quality Desk
Can't fault this amazing desk which was bought as a gift for my fiance who absolutely loves it, plenty of leg room to fit not only a gaming pc but also a pedal board for creating music.
Very sturdy and plenty of room for routing cables through, alongside the headphone hooks being a great quality of life touch. Plus delivery time to the UK was very quick too.
Would 100% recommend this desk to anyone looking for a high quality and sturdy desk
Affordable studio desk
I think you can't go wrong if your looking for an easy to assemble and very full featured studio desk. Monitor height is perfect for mixing.
Keeps the setup tidy
Before I had this desk I had equipment everywhere and it wasn't cool. The desk gave me a place of focus in my life. Kind of like having a car you fix up or guitar. This desk has inspired me to make my setup more effective and sustainable. Very ergonomic.
Very nice quality and value for money!
I have this unit sitting in my living room.
Although it is not premium price you pay, you definitely get the quality, including looks. Assembly is easy. The unit is sturdy, certainly the worktop and upper shelf are heavy, that's good. It is stable, no wobling from left to right or front to back.
In short, I am very pleased with this product!!
Great for the price
Easy to put together and quality seems good considering it's not a particularly pricey desk.
Very happy with it.
Great desk!
I was looking for many years for a good quality desk for mixing and also as an office desk. This does the trick perfectly! I use a MacBook Pro, so needed to find a little bit higher chair, but that is no issue on the desk. I would highly recommend to everyone.
