Mooer Hornet Modeling/BT Combo BLK Reviews
Amaziing amp
Such a cool anf compact amp
The best modeling amp for the price. Really nice tone. I bought this amp one year ago and its still working perfect.
Nice home amp
Very cool for the price.
I start liking Mooer.
Amazing
Ultra good for beginners and accomplished players so i recommend it for everyone
Very beautiful, authentic.
I have been looking for something old school for a long time and found it. The sound is good, the quality is good. Perfect for a beginner guitarist or just playing at home.
Great budget digital combo amp
took for home rehearsals, I really like it. There are effects that are important to me. I advise everyone!
Not the greatest sound
Pros:
-Lots of built in FX and sounds
-Solid build and small footprint
Cons:
-Quite poor sound. No separation between notes. Chords sound very cluttered and messy
-FX are cool but most are very subtle, even when maxed out
-Most of the distorted tones are too similar to each other. The cream version has a better variety of sounds.
I would spend a little more and get a Katana or a nice tube amp though
Great practice amp
Bought it as a practice amp for learning guitar. Its cheap, its loud for a bedroom (and has headphones out), it has nice reverb and delay. Clean sounds nice, and you can get a decent sound of other settings as well. You don't need more for this price.
Love this amp so far
I got this amp with my first electric guitar, so take it with a grain of salt, I'm no expert, but so far it's been amazing. It's got all the sounds I want, whether it's indie pop, or punk rock and to me, the sound is really good.
Only thing I find a tiny bit annoying is that when I connect my pc to it via aux cable to use it as a speaker while playing it has this constant white noise in the background, idk if that's normal. Either way, once you start playing you won't hear it anymore
Overall very happy with it and a great price since I bought it in a bundle
Great for apartment and small studios!
I ordered it for a small rec studio and for my apartment. For its size it sounds amazing. Great futures and also blth connection. It's great for acoustic too. It has a very clean sound. I'm very happy for what I got at this price
Good amp and speaker for the room
The build quality is on top and the features like Bluetooth and integrated tuner are very handy. You connect any of your devices as long as they support Bluetooth and have any song playing in the background while you can still play your guitar. The modes that this amp comes equipped with are rather disappointing. From 9 options, 7 of them sound almost the same. I expected a bit more from those. Overall, it's a great modelling guitar combo for a beginner and someone that wants to have an additional quality Bluetooth speaker.
Perfect budget amp!
Perfect amp if youre just starting out or want something small to carry around. It might be tiny but it still has great sound!
Good amp
I am very pleased with it, but the sound is not what I was looking for. The clean tones are very good. Be carefull, white one has different presounds than the black one. Overall very good built amp.
Not bad
I'm no expert but I have owned several amps in this price range and slightly above, so I can compare it relatively.
Very light, build quality feels pretty plasticky.
Modelling sounds are ok, there doesn't seem a huge amount of depth or body to them.
One surprising thing is that according to the instruction, the different colours of the item have different amp models. You can probably check on the manufacturer site, but this colour (black) didn't have a model for Fender Deluxe Reverb, whereas the white one has apparently. Strange and unexpected.
It's ok for the money, tbh I'm sorry I didn't spent just a little more to get a Fender Champ or Mustang.
Love it, way better than expected
For the money I wasn't expecting much. I had a little katana mini which was OK but didn't have much output and I wanted a little practice amp to sit under a coffee table and yet looked good.
First of all the looks. Whenever anyone sees it they immediately comment on it's 50's styling and how the blue dial was perfect.
But, most importantly, the sound. Some of the amps are a little too rocky for me, I play Jazz/ blues but overall for a practice amp I have zero complaints. It's really there to replace a Yamaha THR which was ok, a pain as it always suffer from a buzz caused by a short and I'm actually more of a fan of this Mooer and it's sounds. There's options for pretty much anything I want to play.
Our Bass player plugged in his Warwick and was impressed, it's a versatile piece of kit. Not enough low end for him to gig with but he was happy enough. I guess that's a good compliment.
very good
for beginners very very good
A little amp with a big sound
This amplifier is ideal to practice on and with a choice of 9 different classic amp settings there is something for everybody. The sound is unbelievable and it also has bluetooth so that I can play along to downloaded backing tracks without masses of wires. Take a look on you tube as there are several videos. I am well pleased with it.
Nice combo for kids bedroom
I've bought this combo for my nephew. He only starts playing guitar, but he wants to sound as a megastar! And my sister wants to live in peace and quiet. Dilemma :)
Here is where Mooer Hornet comes in. Cool, stylish, has everything that kid and his mom expects from it. Thank you Mooer, one happy family fed :)
I have tried many small combos from "classic" brands for home use, and was disappointment with their sound, features and look.. This is the best choice for hobbyists on my opinion. Modeling amp is a modelling amp. Just don't expect it to be a replacement of a real tube amp on staage, and you will be happy.
A lot of amps emulated, not just clean and overdrive. Effects enriches the sound, so for home playing you actually don't need anything more.
Controls - a bit unclear for classic amp user, but you just should get just to it, and then you will understand why it is done that way.
Bluetooth is a must for modern home combos.
Bought to use at home as practice amp and to also play/stream mp3. The quality of the modeling is very reasonable, just like that of the integrated effects. Please note that this is an amp to practice at home. Don't expect it as amp to take to the rehearsals. Good modeling amp with excellent price-quality ratio. Intuitive, easy and fun to use.
