Good for home

The volume knobs have a lil delay but it definitly good, mic preamp are awesome for the price of this Motu, and for a home DAW it's all I need

M2 = beautiful and true sound

In this price category up to 200E, it is an incredibly excellent sound card. The sound, in direct comparison with the Apollo Solo, seems even more legible, silkier and firmer in the bass field. It may not be as rich as Apollo, but it does what it does. No control software required. An important element is the ON / OFF switch. The driver for Windows 10 is completely stable. For use with a laptop but I recommend Windows settings according to these principles: you will achieve even with low-end CPU (i3 xxxxU) extremely low latency 64 samples buffer size without cracking, drops ... Very simple and sound excellent 1A sound. The headphone preamplifier works very well. Conclusion: Very simple and sound excellent 1A sound card. Big beautiful surprise. Thanks MOTU!

Excellent Interface - best at this price

I got this about a month ago and it has been stellar. Previously, I was using a Roland Rubix 22.

The Motu M2 has been reviewed in considerable depth already, so there isn't anything new I can say about it. From my personal perspective it has been excellent and I highly recommend it to anyone on a budget.

PROS:

- Best at this price range in multiple categories: balance, headphone amp (internal impedance and output power), distortion, noise, frequency response

- Can drive my 470 ohm headphones

- Solid build quality (body feels robust, knobs are smooth and have adequate weight when turning them)

- macOS driver and software shaved off additional seconds from the overall delay time in my DAW - REMEMBER to install them if you are a mac user

- Loopback functionality

- Display is not necessary but cool to have and accurate as well

- On/Off button

CONS:

- Included USB cable is dangerously close to being too short

Excellent audio interface!

I needed to change from a Firewire interface (Focusrite Saffire) to USB and when I saw the large LCD metering display on the MOTU I knew I wanted one! I like that it is USB powered, and that it needs no software to use its features. It has been great so far, and I recommend this to anyone in the market for a 2 channel USB interface.

Great product, great sound

I was incredibly surprised the first time I turned it on. Crystal clear sound, both for vocals and live instruments. But the microphone must be top-end to hear the difference between a cheap and expensive microphone! Most pleased with the size and build quality! Excellent quality! This is the best card for the price / quality. Buy, do not regret it!

Great clean low noise recording. On off switch, independent phantom power, midi .... dirt cheap for what you’re getting.

Excellent audio interface, great price

This interface is so popular most of them are sold out in Europe so I am lucky to have got hold of one of these.

I use this in my home studio. It's got good features on it and the preamps are as described - excellent. I ideally wanted the 4 in/out version, but this one serves me very well.

No cons that I can see - if I had to upscale my studio and started recording more than 2 instruments at a time, then I would go for an 8in/out perhaps. But for where I am at this is perfect.

In summary, very happy with this bit of kit.

All good, no cracking and best of all, low latency support at low buffer without crashing

Mic preamp considerd one of the best that I have used. Not sterile and not heavily colored. I have been using it a lot as direct DI for bass guitar as well vocal mic, and I have found no issue using it for professional works as well!

Best interface in price range, hands down.

It beats Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 by :

- design (you're gonna stare at the thing every day :)

- on/off switch (super useful)

- midi inputs on the back

- great display

- individual monitoring and phantom power (48V)

- no distortion with any headphones (I use low-impedence Audio Technica M50X, which the Focusrite distorts)

Totally worth the small price difference.

Extremely happy with the interface! Works without a driver on macOS (though there is a driver available for even lower latency and extra features inside DAWs), has enough oomph on its headphone out to drive my Audeze LCD-2C and the displays add a very nice touch. Happy with the purchase and would recommend to others!

i just received it as a replacemnt for a focusrite scarlett solo 2nd gen,from the impression you see that is not even a benchmark.MOTU M2 has no letancy and any noise or glitch.

good for the price

I just wanted an audio interface for recoding guitar plays with low latency. It is just amazing it does the job without annoying latency issues even with virtual gitar amps.

Sound is amazing for monitoring, or for guitar plays with amp. however didnt really liked listening music or playing games( in games the sound comes everywhere just not where it should).

Quiality- I might not the one because I read a couple ppl with same issues. the gain knob on the line 1 around at quater has a rought noise like it scratches the case or something but after its gone only has the issue in the first quarter. I can live with it tough its a bit annoying problem some of those who would use it frequently.

All in all if you are looking for something different other than the Focusrite its a go to. Amazing microphon and guitar interface for me.

The clarity of the vocals is shocking

This thing might be good, but is not AMD compatible. I really regret having bought it. It is showing all sorts of sluggishness and even pitch-shifting my system on its own. I wanna sell it and avoid Motu hardware forever.
