Fantastic Phaser to own

I was initially going for the MXR Phase 90 version but this is far beyond my expectation, so glad I went with the Custom Shop version... a very solid choice for phaser pedal

Great phaser

It does the job it's supposed to very well. A solid choice for phaser pedal.

Classic phaser

It doesn't need an introduction, it's a classic phaser pedal.

Built like a tank.

It's great, it sounds really natural.

Probably not for extreme uses, but for the rock/heavy playing it's great.

And.... easy to use!

A classic! This phaser has been on my board for 7 years, only to be replaced recently by its smaller brother, the phase 95, which allows for some more versatility and more subtle phasing if needed. Still looking like new after all this time.

The benchmark Phaser

Everybody knows the MXR Phase 90: is the standard of the industry when in comes to Phasers.

However there are 3 different versions: the "Block logo", the "Script logo with LED" - this one - and the "Script logo without LED".

I choose the "Script logo with LED" and never regreted it.

It is smoother sounding and "vintager" than the "Block logo" and I couldn't tell the difference between this one and the "Script logo without LED".

Highly recommended for several music styles

A classic, easy to use and very musical phaser.

This needs no introduction the one knob wonder can go from set to stun to a very slow Van Halen 1 phase

Great Pedal! Recommended

Bought to use with Fender Telecaster and Jazzmaster. Familiar with the standard version; so I had a fair idea what I was getting in advance, decided to treat myself and pay the bit extra for the CSP script version.

Pros: Sounds Great. Solid Build. Easy to use. Classic Sound.

Cons: None really, everything as promised. some may like additional adjustment knobs, have not found this an issue.

Having used it for a bit I think this an excellent pedal. Excellent Rich Classic sound. Straight forward to use. Quality build. if you don't own one already, I feel it was worth the small additional cost for the script version. Highly Recommend.

Great sound and simple to use

Great sound. I like the single dial as you can change the setting on the fly with your foot!

I owned still one and I have bought this for my brother. I used other phaser in teh past and this for me is choice number 1: it is simply perfect for the sound he delivers.

Just one control outside the box (speed) can be seen as too simple but trust me: there is no particular need too complicate it.

The sound is smoother than the "block script" version and it fits at best with classic tones (Shine on you crazy diamond, us and them, ...) or new rock sounds (U2: starring at the sun, EVH: Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love, ect).

He can really warm the sound and it is a must buy for anyone who wants to have a phaser which works pretty good with all sounds.

The original phaser sound

I bought this device mainly for sentimental reasons. I used to use it a long time ago and have been missing it once and again ever since. It delivers "the" Phase 90 sound that probably everyone knows, nothing more nothing less. If you are looking for flexibility, this phaser is not for you. It has one knob and that's sufficient. I just set it to 9-10 and let it be - great sound for clean as well as overdriven guitar.

Custom Shop Phase 90 w LED

Pre-purchase I only knew the Phase 90`s sound from modelling softwares and loved the sound immediately. The actual pedal sound even better for me and the versatility you get is really surprising. Turned all the way down it has a lush, slow phasing, suitable for anything really. The 10`clock setting has a nice funky vibe, and if you pass 12`clock you slowly land in vibe territory. The rightmost position is great for some harmonic notes or even for slow rythm sounds.

The effect is never harsh or to much, it settles in nicely with your guitars natural tone. Some people mentioned the noise it might create. Yes, it is a little noise, but it is a deep, barely noticeable humming and I only used it in front of the amp so far, maybe its even quiter in the effects loop. Bear in mind however, that this is just a characteristic of the BucketBrigade chips the pedal uses. They are an older technology and noisy by nature.

The pedal also comes with a rubber knob, which lets you adjust the rate by foot, and it`s very convenient. Just dont forget to apply some velcro to your pedalboard, so that it wont slide back and forth while you are turning the knob.
