Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol M32 Reviews

Little wonder
I travel a lot and this is just the perfect fit in my bag to produce on the road.
Perfect Keyboard to have on your desk
As i say on the title this for me is the perfect keyboard to have on my desk as i needed something apart from my 88 key one.
PROS:
- Small Factor, on a busy desk always important
- Great building, yes plastic but it feels really good on knob and button too
CONS:
Mini Keys, well not really a cons but you know small keys small sound, i consider this a keyboard to reach fast some keys if i dont wanna move the bigger one.
At the end it fits in my workflow flawlessly! Perfect companion even for little home studio!
Its very good, but they layout doesn't make much sense most of the time.
I wish there was a way to de-couple the keybed and the controllers.
Sometimes you want your typing keyboard to be in front of the controllers and the keybed on the side to make more ergonomical sense.
not knobs friendly, I wish there were more knobs and a dedicated button to switch between DAW and MIDI controller.
The problem with all-in-one controllers is that it doesn't take the main keyboard into consideration, something I only realized once I bought it.
A little difficult to set up
Im using this with garageband and it works perfectly but setting up Native Instruments app is really difficult and i don't get it. I really like the build quality and its a great handy little keyboard.
I use this w/ ableton live 10, the keys are nice pitch/mod sliders are neat.
connectivity is just usb midi and I've never got it to fully work with Ableton but that might just be me being a dolt.
Best portable midi keyboard ive ever used
I bought this to use on holiday etc to make my beats and songs but i find myself using it pretty much everyday now, works absolutely amazing in logic/ ableton/ flt studio as ive used in all of them.
I couldnt reccommend this keyboard more for pretty much anyone wanting to make music, pro or beginner. The included software is 100% worth downloading and with no previous software and just the included ones you can already start making some pretty serious stuff.
pros- software / size / build quality / key size and number/ compatibilty
cons - no drum pads
good midi keyboard
excellent midi keyboard for the price and quality,,,,,,,,,
work perfectly
Best low price 32 key
Keyboard touch is nice, very nice...
Although it is not a real piano keyboard, but the feedback is good,
I think the keyboard is the best, compare to other small keyboard.
Komplete Kontrol and the function when I use Ableton is not as good as profession midi device.
But if you need some smaller ,handy midi toys. Buy this, not Akai.
Great addition
Great addition for my NI setup on the road
Great for its class!
Very good quality for the price, and has 32 keys while most small keyboards have 25. Solid knobs and plenty of them for most tasks, especially if you use Komplete Kontrol software. The touch strips for pitch and modulation are not ideal, but it's understandable at this size and you get use to it.
A downside would be the rather poor flexibility and configurability as a MIDI controller. Not much you can do beside use it as it is, you cannot configure it as you can a Maschine.
Best budget midi controller
It is a well made, sturdy midi controller with a nice key touch, good controls for Ableton, and VSTs, coming with some useful bundled software. The only downside is there are no pads, but NI always keeps their pads separate from keys.
I use it for EDM production, exploring different sounds in Komplete Kontrol or instruments in Kontakt.
I would definitely suggest this midi controller, especially if you want to upgrade to Komplete Select software, which is way cheaper than buying it directly.
Great midi board, very easy to use, feels great and it comes with a lot of useful software. Definitely recomended
Nice one
I'm generally very satisfied with this mini keyboard.
The only negative seems to be with the low velocity sensitivity.
You have to hit really hard the keys to get the maximum velocity.
Good
Easy to connect easy to use but the pitch wheel its a little uncomfortable
Komplete M32
Bang for the buck. This is the on-the-go- keyboard for me. I got myself a full version kontakt and Its really delivers the complete NKS experience as I have lotsa third party vst to run with kontakt.
I got no problem with the tiny keys even tho i got huge fingers. A truly perfectly usable keyboard for me.
Easily the best midi keyboard out there!
Nice little keyboard
Plugs easily, I like the looks and feel of it. Made of plastic, but doesn't feel shaggy at all.
Use it mostly for playing MIDI parts, so my pitch and mod wheels tend to be neglected most of the time.
Expectable quality by NI
I ordered this keyboard to use in music production. The packaging was simple, clean and efficient. No problems there. The keyboard itself is made of sturdy plastic. Albeit not expensive in materials, it holds up quite well. The keys and buttons also feel decent.
One thing I did not like with this keyboard; the drivers and DAW configuration. It was a painstaking process and took around half of an entire day. I had to download the NI app, then install the Komplete Kontrol set through that app, Then, I had to download a seperate Komplete Kontrol driver updater, which did not seem to recognize the keyboard. After some digging online I realized it didnt work on Windows 7 and I had to update. After that was done, I had to configure it with my DAW (FL studo), which was also a pain in the ass. After navigating through all of that, as well as adjusting the key velocity sensitivity in the DAW, the keyboard finally worked quite well. Most if not all of the important buttons seem to work fine with FL Studio 20.
Despite the software shortcomings, this keyboard is well worth the price once you get it working. Highly recommend it to anyone producing music on a budget.
