Neural DSP Quad Cortex Reviews
Really impressive amp tones
I decided to choose QC over fm3 for its dual amp capabilities and size and weight. I am happy that dialing in a tone takes me less than a few minutes and i can play and not tweak.
One of the best gear purchases I made
First of all, I am not any kind of a pro musician at all. I play at home to escape real lifeâs hustle and bustle from time to time, and achieving great tones is just pure joy for my soul. I donât have too much space to store many amplifiers but I do want to play many. And hereâs the solution - Quad Cortex. It has so much power inside of this box, and when you really think about it, the price is much less than it could actually be for everything you can get from it. Want a classic Marshall sound? You got it. Want that EVH5150 signature sound or maybe try out some Metallica presets? You name it. It can do so much and the best part of it - it does it great. Itâs probably the best solution you can get as a home musician, whether youâre playing silently with headphones and recording, or even just playing through a real cabinet with a PA setup. Itâs just great and thatâs it. I am also loving the Neural DSP plugins which in my opinion are some of the best ones existing, and can you imagine that they soon will become available in Quad Cortex too? Thatâs a no-brainer really.
A guitar players dream
Short and sweet. Ive tried a Kemper, tone master pro and Quad cortex. The cortex has the best down load library best sounds best features and it's all I will ever need. even just playing in with headphones the quality is amazing. Tried it with a fender frfr speaker and I'll never need to buy another amp 10/10
Simply put, it f*cks
try it out for yourself, you'll be surprised how great this thing is.
Amazing piece of Kit
This thing is bonkers in terms of what you can do with it. From home use to gigging to recording this has now replaced all of the old gear I use and I don't miss a thing, especially lugging all that gear from place to place. The ability to also get captures from other people online and their setups on the QC as well takes it to another level.
This is the best multi effect I ever had
Real good product for guitar , bass even with the vocal
Amazing!
For the first time ever (having tried numerous modelers, you know the ones - Fractal, Helix, ...), I was able to play gigs without my beloved tube amp and get the exact feeling. The sound is TOP quality, very high-fidelity and it's super easy to get a usable sound in 5/10 minutes. Captures from the Cloud are also great, you can get some very nice pedals, amps from other users... First unit that I setup at home and got the same sound when playing at gig volumes, sound amazing. If you're still thinking, don't! This is the game changer.
The greatest guitar tool I've had in 20 years
All it's said on the title.
Mindblowing
So easy to use and sounds phenomenal!
Best of the best
Incredible sleep quality. I recommend the purchase without fear of making a mistake
just what i needed !
1st moddler , using plugins for years, made the jump , no complaints
Great for replacing your whole rig.
Bought the quad cortex about a few weeks ago.
It is a great device capable of replacing your whole current rig.
Capturing a amplifier is surprisingly easy and accurate.
The community and downloadable presets are also a great feature!
great
does everything you need it to. use it daily, love it! new updates every now and then. they have good videos online that help you understand how to use the QC more efficiently and explore it more.
The king of modellers
Coming from a AXE-FX II and havin tried a Kemper, nothing came close to the real deal.
Had been eyeballing this thing for 2 years now and i finally bit the bullet. Must say, i am not dissapointed, because it lives up to the hype.
The UI is really simple to use, you get a great sounding preset in no time.
The sound is better than the previously mentioned modellers. It really comes close to the real deal. Tried the SVT 2 Ampeg and, in my ears there was not a big difference.
For now i really like it. If anyone is not sure of buying this thing - just go for it!
Neraul have done it again, as with their plugins
Random Distortion
Ive had to stop using for gigs cause it started randomlyt clipping although everything was gain staged properly. Im also reluctant to use it for gigs now even when I get it repaired incase it happens again. Or at the very least im going to need a back up rig with me at all times.
Great Guitar Sound Modeller
Quad Cortex is a comprehensive high quality modeller of guitar amps, cabs and effects.
Build quality is superb; Neural DSP support is responsive; Software updates become available steadily; Cortex cloud offers access to thousands of extra presets.
The large colour touch screen facilitates a great UI.
Comprehensive I/O support allows for flexible connections (midi, usb, expression pedal connectors, inputs, outputs, sends/returns, headphone)
Great product!
Best of the best
I can safely say that digital processors have finally caught up with analog effects pedals in terms of sound quality, and surpassed them in terms of convenience and compactness
Amazing!
The build quality in this thing is incredible. The sound is fantastic and I can basically get any tone I can imagine with it. A very good set of effects too. Controlling this unit is a breeze thanks to the buttons which also function as knobs. I love tactile stuff but I also love that they give you the option to go full-on touch screen only for people who are into that.
Overall, I am absolutely in love with the Quad Cortex.
4x the happiness!
After 18 months, I'm still happy user. That Neural DSP continue to add new amps/effects for free makes me doubly happy. There's a ton of different amps and effects and they sound like what I expect them too.
Having never used any other modeller (Fractal, et al) I can't compare to those, and of course I'm not comparing side-by-side with the real amps, but they're close enough to fool me in this context.
There's a couple of reasons I bought a QC; to have the opportunity of trying out lots of amps (which is not so possible in the music stores where I live), but mainly because I'm unable to turn up amps at home so wanted something that sounded as close to real amp as possible. This does that and more. One thing to keep in mind with this is that without a loud speaker to interact with the guitar sustain is somewhat reduced. Probably not much Neural DSP can do about that, but it's a small niggle worth noting.
Buttons, dials, switches, and input/output jacks all still work with no signs of any wear -- however, I only use this device at home.
Best multi-effects unit in my opinion
I've tried the Helix stuff, Kemper and a couple other solutions as well, as I prefer the Quad Cortex. It's so easy to get great sounds out of this thing, which makes me come back to it again and again.
