Palmer DACCAPO 5-stars Reviews
Handy tool, never knew how much I needed it
After reading about many studios using reamping boxes for guitar and bass, I decided to pick up a reamping box, the palmer dacappo had good reviews online and the price was certainly appealing. The unit itself is very easy to use, and connected to my interface without any issues. The unit itself is very quiet, and hasn't added any perceptible noise to my recordings. It has worked great on bass and guitar for me, it allows me to fix up any mistakes/tuning issues with the performance and still get a real performance and amp tone. For the price, this product is highly recommended!
Useful yellow box
With limited budget and space in my small home studio I bought this Daccapo reamping box to help expand my recording options and it has been very useful in two main ways.
Firstly, in the more common use for these boxes, I've used it successfully for re-recording guitar tracks using a DI signal. The output seems clean and the level control knob allows for matching and even further driving if desired. As the unit accepts balanced a input signal, it can also be placed suitably far from the recording interface.
Secondly, this can also be used in a live recording situation to minimise equipment needed. I have DI-ed a guitar to the interface for recording and outputted the signal through the Daccapo to the amp to provide a live sound. The DI and Daccapo may then also be used to re-record the track later. Though you may need to check interface latency for this.
Both of these applications allow for maximum use with a minimal amount of microphones. It's not just guitars you can use it for either. Reamping snares is also common as this is essentially an impedance matching device.
With its low price I'm very happy with this little box. The only downside is that now I've got one I wish it had two channels so I could do even more with it, though I suppose I should just buy another! It also looks cool and is pretty small with a very solid build. I'm very pleased with this device, especially for its price.
reamping
I was skeptical at first, its price may be misleading, but it works great, it has a potentiometer to the output level that allows quick and precise adjustment. Now the reamping is easy, inexpensive and high quality, you do not need to spend double or look at all the ways to do it yourself, Palmer has made us a nice gift, recommended
Reamp your Soung!
This thing is really built like a tank and has high quality connectors. You can adjust the input level to your interface (-10dBV or +4dBU). It has also a trim poti to adjust the output level to your amplifier input. The rubber feet ensure a save stand, no slipping, on the floor or on your guitar box next to your amp.
I use it for guitar and also for bass reamping and I had never any problems with noise or humming. I also recomment the Palmer PAN 01 as DI box.
With these two tools you are ready for any reamping at the level of a professional recording studio.
Palmer Daccapo Reamp Box
This is a very efficient, effective and inexpensive piece of beautiful equipment every guitarist should have. It is passive so it doesn't take up any space. Whenever you need to be in a silent environment (for example recording at night for home players) you can just record raw tracks to your DAW and then reamp them as many times as you want through as many amps as you want. The best part is, you never lose the original recording and change it at any point you wish. Daccapo doesn't cause any loss in audio quality and it has volume, lift/ground, instrument/line level adjustments on it that are very useful. Highly recommended !!!
