This is the clearest, most defined snare sound I've ever owned. Benny Greb sure knows how to design them. Anything within his signature line is top notch. The integrated felts are a feature every snare should come with. No more need for gels, rings or tape! I'm delighted with my purchase.

The sonor benny Greb is a brilliant option for any drummer looking for an amazing sounding snare. The inbuilt damping is a brilliant feature as you can totally change the sound of your drum in seconds. The quality is very good and it's a heavy drum so it feels very well built. all moving parts are very smooth. the quality finish makes it an amazing looking snare drum which would take pride of place in any drummers collection.

If you are looking for a Mid to High pitch Snare this is the snare for you. The snare acts like a piccolo snare but with the size of a full snare and so you get a clear cut in a band that uses a variaty of low sounds (metal,extreme metal and sometimes even funk) This snare is ok at mid pitch but does not have the crack like he has in high tunning. I recommend this snare for beginners in a metal band because of this low price and high attack!!! Overall great snare and easy to pick up and place in any genre!!!

Great snare, The Police was my favourite band and Stewart Copeland was my idol growing up. this is a perfect complement to the Paiste Bluebell Ride to get the sound of one of the most distinctive drummers! It's heavier than it looks, very sturdy so make sure you have a good solid snare stand for it.

Even with the stock heads (which are very good) this things sings! Super bright and super loud. Maybe even a bit much for some. Sound guys have fed back to me that it’s a bit too loud sometimes and I don’t hit that hard. It cuts through everything like you would expect a heavy steel snare to do. It is absolutely fantastic- build quality is phenomenal and it is quite heavy. One for the collectors and the players.

I have been following Matt McGuire for years, even before he joined the Chainsmokers, so when he announced his collab with Pearl and his snare, I was so excited, and now when I actually got my hands on it - IT FEELS AMAZING!!! This is the first snare I bought, aside my kit snare, and I would 1000% buy again and/or one more. The dynamic range is so big, if you use plastic sticks (e.g. if church drummer) you can actually HEAR ghost notes. It is also very aesthetic looking and I really like the NFC technology it has and the way Matt connects with us through it.

This snare drum is just the best! It stays in tune, no matter what. It works with pretty much any drum head. For me the best was Evans Heavyweight. It looks really nice as well. It doesnt have very warm sound. But it cuts through the band and everything if you hit it the right way. If you want a snare drum that hits everybody in the venue to the face like Mike Tyson, this is The Snare for you. If you like more warm a deep sounding snare drum, you will do better with a wooden drum.

I found this snare to be a great addition to my kit. Its clarity and dynamic is unprecedented allowing from pianissimo to fortissimo with no effort. And it looks stunning. As soon as the drum came out of the box, my two year old boy said: 'I like it'! One aspect I would say could be improved is the build quality especially on the plating side and for overall production quality control (on the first drum I received one lug was defective), hence my 4 stars for Quality.

For the price of this drum the sound and quality really is pretty decent. Yes it's not for everyone, but if you're a Vinnie fan then it's considerably cheaper than trying to obtain earlier versions. If you're in the market for a 14x8 snare with good value for money, and are ok with how it looks, consider this drum!

Sounds great any any tuning range. Great balance of snap and pop. Responds very well to stick dynamics, and even with the snare wires relaxed, it never sounds too loose. Great for hip-hop, reggae, drum n bass or funk. Projects well for it's size, but something larger might be better for un-mic'd rock gigs. highly recommended!
