Super accurate tuner

I am using it with my acoustic guitar, helps a lot to tune quickly and very accurately. Easy to install on headstock and read whether a string is too high or too low. So far used only my ear to tune but was never fully satisfied. This is a must have :)

My Favourite Clip-on Tuner

Having had various tuners in the past and never being totally satisfied. This was a no-brainer, especially having just bought the excellent Peterson StroboStomp HD. I wanted something for quickly tuning and with the added bonus of the acoustic sweetened tuning.

My only problem is the way the arm to change the screen angle is attached with a tiny bolt and machine screw. After a few months of using the tiny bolt fell off. Luckily I found it and will now have to keep a close eye on it in the future.

Very accurate tuner

I got it to be able to properly intonate my guitars.

Works very well and is really very accurate.

It think is worth the money you spend.

Good tuner, very accurate, but the swivel arm needs improvement. I also wish the usb cable was included.

Accurate tuner, good readable screen, but not visible from all angles

The stroboscope effect makes is very easy to accurately tune the guitar. The screen is a simple back-lit black and orange LCD. Readability is good, but only when looking straight at the screen. OLED or TFT screen would have been better for wider viewing angles.

I usually use the sweetened guitar tuning, it really does sound better for some chords.

The tuner works great but it's a bit awkward to position correctly and it eats batteries very fast. The tuning capabilities are very good

Best clip on tuner on the market

I am very particular about tuning and have never found clip on tuners, apps or anything that you don't plug into to be nearly accurate enough. I had heard a lot about Peterson so decided to take a chance on this. I am very happy with it - I have owned strobe tuners before and this has the accuracy you expect with one of these in a more compact, portable format.

I have used the sweetened tunings and I do think they make a difference. The build quality is good but ideally it would be a little more sturdy. For my own use, it is definitely sturdy enough, but when people inevitably borrow it at gigs (forgetting their tuners, typical!) I worry a bit as it moves/articulates a bit differently than your typical clip on. It is also obviously expensive as tuners go. Overall though, this was a great purchase and I use it all the time.

Best offering yet for strobe fans

Not for the faint hearted. This tuner contains many 'sweetened' presets for all kinds of instruments. It pays off to try them, no guitar or uke is the same. My uke reacts well to the sweetened uke preset. For my brand new Taylor the eq(ual temperament) preset works best (which is a compliment to that guitar's intonation). When you first try 'sweetened ac gtr' you see the differences: some open strings are tuned slightly lower (presumably to counteract lower position 'sharpness'). This tuner contains software that remembers your settings, a piece of automation I have not encountered yet in a clip tuner. For every tuning mode it remembers your absolute pitch and capo or drop setting. The 'concert a' can be set as low as 390hz, which will suit early music devotees. The previous stroboclip had a 'sustain' setting (for instruments with very short tone duration), this setting is omitted here, to me it looks like it is permanently on. My only gripe: on my (early) sample the clip does not open wide enough for classical headstocks, so I deduct one star. It seems they have corrected this, as their website shows it clipped to a fat plank. This tuner is a great little instrument, capable of great precision. You can't really fault it IMO, so lots of stars, but it is not the no brainer tuning solution for the masses.

A great tuner with some clip-on issues

The tuner itself is amazing, the screen is very readable and the tuning quality is top-notch. It has a bunch of presets that might be helpful for guitarists.

As a violin player there's only one concern. It's really hard to find a good fit to clip it on the violin. The best option I've found so far is to rest it on the G peg but it's very annoying when the G string gets out of tune (especially now that I use those a lot with new strings).

great tuner for playing live gig

lots of features possibly too many if that's a criticism tune anything from a violin to bass options of normal and sweetened. One personal crit is the on off button should be yellow or different for my eyes...old man
