It is time. Buy it.

People talk about how neck binding affects the tone, yet forget to tune their guitars before they play. Tuning your guitar before every play session is the cheapest, most straightforward way to improve your tone. This tuner is the most precise one I've ever had. It looks very fancy and expensive (because it is), the backlight is very nice. It has downsides though: it is slow, it is hard to tune under stress in a live situation, and, because it's a piezo tuner, your drummer slaying it near you won't help. For the bedroom use, it is perfect. Buy it for life. For gigs, a faster non-strobe pedalboard tuner would be much better.

Too expensive + case has to be bought separately

Apparently the "strobe" method of tuning is the most accurate, but for a clip on tuner, it is not that significant of an advantage. The build is not reassuring and the protective case has to be purchased separately!.. Plus it has troubles picking up lower frequencies on a bass. I would recommend it if it was built more sturdy, but like this it is too expensive.

Not work

I play trumpet and this tuner is not work, I play F# it will display C#, the reaction is very slow, and many settings must connect computer to configure, so if you play trumpet don’t buy this tuner.

Double bass

When playing double bass an accurate and fast tuning is fundamental. The open strings are our foundations for the intonation, that's why the running must be perfect and handy.

I used many cheap and less cheap tuners over the years, they don't even come close, this one is worth its price, no regrets!

NB : also tried it for fun on a ukulele with great effect

Extremely accurate and easy to read!

This is a fantastic tuner! The display is nice and bright, and the strobes are easy to see. It's also extremely accurate -- I use it on all my basses without issue.

Two things to note: the tuning accuracy can differ depending on where on the headstock you attach it. I used to attach it to the underside of the bass headstock (where the logo is on a Fender headstock) but found that I was getting odd results when setting intonation. I found that for bass at least, I get the best results by attaching it right on the very top of the headstock just past the G-string tuner.

Also, I've been using this for some time now and haven't had problems, but I worry a bit about the durability. It feels well made and I've not broken it yet, but because it relies on vibration, if the clip, arm or any of the little hinges break then it's useless. So probably best to get something else if you tend to be rough with your gear.

Accuracy is great, functionality excellent. Love the guitar sweetener setting.

Is Peterson so it works!

Expensive for what it is, but if you want/need the best clip tuner money can buy this is the one to get.

Benchmark tuner

Benchmark tuner that enables you to tune your ear to the sounds you like as you tune up!

I tune my classical & folk guitars to 432Hz pitch and the Peterson helps me create the mellow sound i’m after. My electrics get tuned to 440Hz and whilst it’s obviously a sharper/harsher tuning, the Peterson tuner helps you to take the edge off the sound to tailor it to your requirements or make it more edgy, you decide! Hear the difference as you’re tuning to pitch, not quite “pitch” but the pitch that you like! Highly recommended not just for tuning your guitar, but training your ear also!

The spinning wheel effect whilst tuning enables you to visualise exactly how you are tuning your instrument, this tuner as far as I’m concerned is invaluable!

Once you’ve learnt how to use it, you’ll know, this tuner is game over!😜

The very best you can get!

Works like a charm and so easy to follow, The sweetened tuning is so much better than just tuning by the book.

Would have been even better if it was rechargeable but not an issue really.

Maybe the price is somewhat high in comparison but it's definitely worth it.

Just get one, you won't regret it!

Most exact tuner!

One might think this is an overprized clip-tuner. Instead it's well worthy: it's not only the most accurate clip tuner with a teal quick response that I have ever used it's also the most versatile, since you can choose between lots of different tunings including various string instruments, open tunings and sweetened tunings. I could even programm my own pedal steel tuning online and load it. If you have different string instruments and don't like the hassle with pedals , this is just great. In an alu chassis it would be perfect...

Very accurate tuner

This strobe tuner is very accurate and it can also transpose the tuning to be perfectly in tune when using a capo which is very useful.

You can also set "sweetened" tunings for guitars and other instruments which super useful too...

I never felt so in tune with other tuners.

The only thing I regret is that it is made of plastic and not metal like the TC polytune clip on and that is why I ranked 3 stars on quality.

Good clip tuner

The tunning is very good. The handling is just ok, but not the best. The same for materials used to build this product. They can be better for this price range I beleve.

Different kind of beast...

My first strobe tuner. Takes a few minutes to get used to but then it’s no turning back.

The different sweetened tuning presets works great. Recording bass in my home studio now for example, I get much less problems needing correction in the mixing-stage (Melodyne) than before. Much less. And that is proof that I am more in tune than before. Just what I was looking for...

Only con is that it can be a bit tricky to get the right position due to the construction. But it’s not such a big deal.

Accurate, clear display and good attachment

Using this for my double bass and violin. This tuner is very accurate and picks up the tone easily, I have had other tuners in the past which has been more difficult to pickup the vibrations from the instrument.

Another thing I like about this tuner is the attachment and that it is easy to angle the display. I use this on violins and double bass, on the violin I attach it on the tuning pegs and on the double bass I attach it on the bridge. Works excellent on both these instruments and it is very easy to read the display.

I have not used the "sweetened tuning" as it might not be suitable for non-fretted instruments, but I suspect that it is more of a marketing gimmick anyway ;)

the best clip tuner

i love stroboscopic tuners, and peterson are among the absolute best - and most widely used - on the market.

this small (but slightly on the big side) clip tuner has all the functions as the bigger peterson units, and it's both fast and accurate.

Best small tuner

This is a really nice tuner with a lot of great features. The different tuning profiles are very useful and it is a very nice size to fit most stringed instruments both acoustic and electric, e.g mandolin, ukulele, guitar, bass. I have used it on acoustic and electric guitars.

Overview: The display is clear and the interface allows a very exact method of achieving correct pitch. This is in contrast to the usual digital tuners which can be annoying to use. I've used ones in the past where there is a long delay between sound input and the displayed pitch and also ones that really only tune approximately to a true pitch. This tuner is better than any I have used previously, and allows you to get very precise tunings.

Pro: When you are tuning the display interface feels like it is in real time, making tuning very fast. The screen is bright and clear. The tuner is small and easy to use discretely in a live setup. Pre-programmed tunings makes tuning live to different open tunings very easy. If you are playing with other people this tuner easy to share between acoustic and electric instruments.

Con: It's expensive. The font of the letters used is a bit too stylised to me, but the letters are easy to interpret. The screen is small so it will be harder to see for people with poor sight, but this is because it is supposed to be a small unobtrusive tuner. The arm that attaches the tuner to the fixing point feels a little brittle. It would be nice if it was more manoeuvrable, but I assume they limited the motion to ensure vibration gets to the electronics.

Conclusion: This is the best tuner I have used. It may be over the top for most casual players, but if you are frustrated with cheaper tuners this one will not disappoint. There are conflicting opinions on whether such accurate tuners are necessary. In my opinion it really depends on who you are playing with and whether you need/want a very close tuning. Another factor is speed. A responsive tuner like this one lets you tune up fast, which is really nice when playing with other people or live.

For me the interface with this tuner is what sets it apart. You are tuning in what feels like real time and it is more like tuning to a tuning fork than an electronic tuner. I am very happy with it and definitely recommend it.

I was told I'd hear my guitar in a new way after tuning it with the Peterson StroboClip HD... so true! My guitars never sounded better. Highly recommendable investment.

I use this for my acoustic, electric guitar and mandolin!

One of the most expensive clip tuners, but I really like to buy things that last for many years and don't have to worry about things I miss in cheaper products.

The clip is great, rubber doesn't scratch guitar neck, it's very comfortable, it's actually quite small, you can adjust it in any angle for your comfort, display is great in low and high lightning.

I had to take some time to get used to catch the sweet spot of tune,but not an issue really.

So yeah, it's really worth every penny and does it job excellent!

11/10 would recommend!
