Pirastro Oliv D Double Bass 4/4-3/4

Just perfect

I have always been a big fun of gut strings.

But unless I'm doing a gig with a proper PA system, is quite difficult for me to be heard just through my amp.

And I've try many of them and combination with pick ups.

So I've finally tried the Oliv

And they blew my mind. The sound is just perfect. Dark but punchy, much easier for bowing (in my case french), and still get that gut sound in records I've always listened and love.

Is as versatil as you think; just perfect for pizzicato, bow or slap.

Don't worry about the tuning, because after a week is settle (if the place where you playing is too hot or you're in an open space you'll need your tuner, but that is with any strings).
