Pirastro Tonica Violin 4/4 medium BTL Reviews
Very good
My limited knowledge of violin strings only allows me to review these on a price/quality basis. So, yes, they're great for the price :-)
very good for intermediate player
i installed this strings , they are very powerful and suitable to give a warm violin the projection needed , they keep their sound for around 4 month of hard work and then start to loose their good intonation and quality , i Didn't like the G much as it is poor in quality but comparable to the price they are very good choice.
Perfect
Great sound at a great price for a kit and quality seems very good, what else could you ask for?
great string for intermediate students, excellent cost as well! overall, a great set of strings.
Nice strings but Dominant are better
The strings are bright and have a good resonance, but I prefer Dominant strings.
The Tonica strings did not seem to last as long and started to degrade in sound quality after 2 month.
These are my default strings
Pirastro tonica
Great strings although they take a while to settle after being put on the instrument
Good set of strings
The strings in this set are of good quality and gives a good and warm sound. Suitable for beginner to intermediate. Sounds good in softer playing, can have trouble projecting in louder dynamics. Good response in lower register, and speaks decently in the high register. Not shrill or sharp in any way. Will last quite long, but not for very harsh, extended playing. Great for its price range and for starting out.
Excellent qualty
You get what you pay. It is a bit pricy but the sound is really good.
satisfied
Very good and nice strings
Trusted brand
I've been using Pirastro strings since when I was a kid, I tried different strings with different brands but I keep on coming back to where I am used to. I used Tonica for my violin when I was playing in the orchestra, I also played on the ship with a very tough environment and this string just lasted for a very long time. Suitable for all types of styles and genre and for the price you can't go wrong. Reliable, Practical and excellent for professional use.
Pirastro Tonica Violin 4/4 medium BTL
Un son bien clair, défini avec un peu de complexité et une très bonne réponse à l'archet. Que demander de plus pour un set de cette catégorie.
Cheap and good
If you want good strings that sound nice for a decent price Tonica are good for you. On the mellow - low sound spectrum.
They are very bright at first and mellow out over time.
good strings for good price
The New Standard String
This string set offers good all-around characteristics. It is even the standard set on instruments in many violin shops (next to Dominants). I recommend using Tonica on a newly bought violin and comparing other strings against that. For example I like to replace the E-String with Gold Label on one of my violins strung with Tonica.
Satisfied
I'm a beginner and can't say much but what I can tell for sure is that, when I changed the strings that came with the violin for these ones... the sound changed radically and I'm really satisfied.
I should try other strings to give a better opinion, but I'm really satisfied with these.
Also what I found nice, is that E string comes with a little rubber band to put on the bridge to avoid the E string cutting the bridge (which the default strings were doing...)
great strings
These are excellent strings, they are easy to put in and take out, and easy to tune. You can play any style with these strings. They do not snap easily. We have used these strings for several years.
Lovely colour
These are bright and light but drop in colour within 2 months of play. Not very rewarding, but clear and precise. I'd buy these again
Ok!
Good sound and tone overall. Compared to dominants, they're less neutral and more "lively", though not really bright. The only gripe is they take a looooong time to settle in. It took about 3 weeks before the strings stopped losing a whole step each night.
