Presto Jazzicato

These really are excellent strings, i bought them to try out against conventional steel strings and was very surprised at how great they sounded with magnetic pickups, hardly any volume change at all, also a lot kinder on the fingers too being wrapped in plastic, I play a lot of Rockabilly stuff so they take quite a pounding with being slappped all night and hold out great and stay in tune.

Really Nice

I had only been playing upright bass for about a year with the strings that came with the bass itself and wanted to upgrade the strings for something that was a bit more mellow and suitable for pizz jazz style.

It's really hard to gauge what any new strings will sound like because the instrument itself is a big factor so researching new strings is very hard and the strings are very expensive. After I found out as much as I could I decided to try these and I'm very happy.

In short they're much mellower than the steel strings I had and are much easier on my fingers. They are a bit more elastic and much easier to play and really made a huge improvement for the tone I was after. I'm very glad as you don't really know what they'll be like until after you buy them and install them which is an expensive gamble.

I will be buying these again when the time comes to replace them.

Pros: Lovely mellow tone. Easy on the fingers. Easier to play than steel strings.

Cons: Pricey. But worth the investment now I've heard them on my double bass.
