Great when sticks are too loud

Great when sticks are too loud. Still allow you to have a good sense of feel & technicality that you don't always get with lighter rods. Good quality, seem to last me a long time & I'm using them week in week out.

Excellent compromise

You are hitting too hard with your 5Bs (or even your 5As) and you would like a softer stroke? Brushes are great but you can get the attack? Those L-Rods are perfect compromise ! I play in a rock band every weekend. We always start with some soft numbers but yet I need to have some attack on my ride and my toms. I need to play quieter for the first 20 mins until the crowd builds up. Those are perfect for this ! Solid, 6 hickory dowels, yet light and the correct length as standard drumstick (about 16"). I love them.

Excellent

I hit my drums with sticks, and sound comes out. I wanted some more sticks to hit drums with. When hitting drums with these sticks my drums make sound. That's what I wanted so am pleased with the purchase.

Last much longer than the standard hot-rods.

Great alternative to sticks

The Lightning Rods are perfect for when sticks are a little to full on. I play in a small electric band, originally acoustic and tend to switch between sticks and rods as required between songs. Very bright sounding on gentle cymbal taps and ride. They feel excellent in the hands, nice and light, but plenty of power and volume if required, particularly effective when playing rim shots and flams. I've had one pair for a year now, in use for 6 hours a week in rehearsals and they have some wear, but the dowel rods haven't broken, just have a few nicks as expected from hi hat, rims. I also put a little surgical tape around them towards the end of the rods for a little more protection and I think it provides a little more attack on the snare head. Great price for their longevity and a pleasure to play with.

Nicely fitted a gap between Hot Rods and sticks

These L-Rods are perfect if you need a bit more attack and volume than with Hot Rods but not as much as you would get from sticks. Great for a small acoustic/unplugged combo or a small club venue.

Innovative way of reducing volume

For heavy players who need to limit their volume these pack more punch than Hot Rods. Since they're made from 7 larger rods they're much more robust too.
