Auf der Suche nach einem kleinen, recht leisen Pad, mit dem man auch gut reisen kann, habe ich mir hier 3 Practice Pads bestellt und getestet. Ahead Wicked Chops Practice Pad Drumprax Pad 60mm Black Rtom 7" Moongel Workout Pad Im Vergleich zu den anderen: - das lauteste, durch den recht hellen Ton - hat es den stärksten Rückprall/bounce - ist es das Kleinste Es ist sehr gut verarbeitet und lässt sich auch ohne Halterung spielen. Ich habe es auf einem Holztisch getestet, darauf steigt die Lautstärke dann noch mal deutlich. An die Größe musste ich mich erst gewöhnen, aber es macht echt Spaß. Ok, this is actually a very cool invention. I was thinking I'd get it for the car dashboard or just generally have it in my pocket or messenger bag. I'll start by saying this is not putty-like the ones kids use. This is actually quite hard and has a much more rigid texture. That's actually the pro: makes it a nice playable surface with tons of rebound. Think Vic Firth Heavyhitter pad. But it's also the con: it's hard to take out of the box, hard to mold flat, and it's noisy :P Still, love it. I will be making good use of this. Still haven't decided if I'll carry the vic firth practice tips, or this, or both

Wicked Chops is what every drum teacher should tell their students to practice on. It forces you to pay attention to the way you hold your sticks in order to control how and where they land. Your strokes naturally become more controlled and even as a result. It will eliminate a lot of errors out of the way you handle your sticks. In the beginning it's very unforgiving, and in my case it forced me to slow down to start building up a good technique almost from the ground up. Just stick to regular practice on this pad, and your sticking will become precise, subtle, powerful and controlled. Great pad with very realistic rebound while remaining quiet and soft enough on the hands. Comparing the rebound of this surface to a double-sided Vic Firth 12" pad that I have - the VF has one softer gray surface and one very hard black surface. The softer one is quiet but too bouncy, the black one gets closer to a snare rebound-wise, but is too noisy and very hard so that your wrists may suffer after a while. This TAMA new pad is almost as quiet as the gray surface of the VF, but response is only a little bit bouncier then the hard black surface of the VF, and IMO gets VERY close to a real snare. 9" as size is the perfect IMO - not too small as a 6", and not too big as a 12". Well, it's a practice pad. What possible can be big differences between various practice pads? Sound is not important, rebound and feel more so. I've used several practice pads to date, some robust and heavy, some tiny and light travelling away from me when practicing :D This one is somewhat different and now I split practice pads into 2 categories. Category one - muscle and memory training. For this I have used practice pads with a single sound/feel surface to practice rudiments, dynamics, accents, which worked well for a quiet(er) one drum application or drum set application (just add a few quiet cymbals). Well, this pad is very well built and pleasant to play. You can use it for chop building, but I think it was designed/intended for practicing snare solos. The plastic rim serves its purpose very well. Although I purchased this pad a few month ago, I do think that it can withstand heavy rimshots for a long time. The green surface is quite sturdy and gives a little bit more rebound than a normal medium or high tuned snare. But it is definitely not too bouncy. The other side is made of recycled material. It's is very close to a normal snare IMO, so less bouncy than the green surface. Overall a very pleasant pad. If you need to take pad with you, choose the 8 inch version.

I bought the LP4 after hearing some good things about it. I was after a large practice pad and stumbled across this one. Its different to others because of the different playing surfaces. They each have a different bounce, sound, and overall feel. It makes practicing rudiments a bit more interesting as you can play patterns around the different surfaces. Overall i really do like it and prefer it to pads with just the one surface type. I thought it might be a bit of a gimmick but it really does make things a bit more interesting. Not the cheapest, but worth it in my opinion.

The practise pads of HQ Percussion are simply the best practise pads you can find in the market. To play on these practise pads is the best possibility to practise the rudiments without getting into trouble with your neighbour by hitting the snare drum with loudly played accents. I think it is recommended to use a stand for the HQ Percussion RF-6D Practise Pad because just with a stand you can arrange the practise pad in a way so that it is comfortable to play. All in all I can recommend the HQ Percussion RF-6D Practise Pad because the pad has a lot of rebound and a comfortable playing experience.

I have a small school for Drum Lesson and I had ordered the practice pad for my students as well. I was surprised when I opened the box, it looks very good and the rubber and wooden board looks great. Also my students are very happy receiving their practice pad. The rebound is great and feels good, really great feel on the rubber, also looks neat. The only thing I've noticed about it, its quite heavy than other practice pad, maybe because of the board. But all in all, I highly recommend it, Great product for a very good price.

Pros: - very well made - two surfaces feel distinct; there is noticeably less rebound on the WORKK side - depending on what you're looking for, the large size is nice (although less portable) CONS: - personally, I was hoping for a very quiet pad, but the FLEXX side is still a bit noisy and surprisingly, the WORKK side has an even bigger stick sound, despite having less rebound - with medium to hard hits, it's easy for the stick to push down the entire foam surface and reach the wood part of the pad, as one review also stated earlier - high price which doesn't feel entirely justified To be clear, the sound isn't exactly loud (nowhere near as bad as the Remo pads with an actual drumhead), but still isn't quiet enough that you could consider practicing with it in any apartment building....
