Those have the sound i have been looking for.

I installed these on Harley Benton Beatbass but they were too short. So i bought a new hofner styled longer bridge and now they are sitting nicely. Low E string is much thumpyer than the A,D and G, but i have heard that once the other three strings break in the sound will get more even. This is the sound i have been looking for. Dark, thumpy, mellow.

Of course, I bought this with the Hofner ignition bass, and it sounds perfect with a little mix in the Daw its beyond godlike of bass sounds. it's my first time owning one and this string feel really smoother than I thought.

Amazing strings, great value

I use the strings on my Höfner Beatles bass. They simply sound amazing and last very long. Very good for palm muting and groovy rifts.

Smooth

These are great sounding, well balanced and very smooth to play. I've never tried flats before but I think I kinda hit the top shelf here. Lots of fun to play for hours and hours without getting sore finger tips!

Classic vintage sound

Definitely the go-to flatwounds for the Höfner violin bass, if you're looking for that vintage muted/rubbery sound.

60?70s sound

Best thing you can get to make your bass sound better. By better I mean more like Paul McCartney. Lovely feel bit weird at first. Great quality and sound excellent. Thats it.

Expensive but very good and with killer vintage tones

Faulty G string

Couldn't get the G string to intonate properly. It was like around 50cent flat, and it wasn't caused by improper instrument setup - tested with spare string.

Other than that - sonically I liked the E and A strings, thumpy, not bright. The brightness difference of D and G was very different from the lowest ones, so that's another negative. Maybe they'll get more even as they break in.

Fantastic Strings

Great strings for that classic retro sound, or alternatively, how a bass should sound. Fitted them onto a Hofner Violin Bass and it rocks. Great depth and great for all genres. Great!!

Vintage sound at it's best!

If you have a short scale, better if it's a Höfner, this are your strings. They sound really cool, old school, thumpy and warm right out of the pack. They last forever!
