The round core makes sustain and resonance perfect!
I put these strings in an Epihpone Casino. Although many recommend wound strings to get the "Beatles" sound, I did some research and found that they started using these type of strings with round core (instead that standard hexagonal core). This makes all the diference because the sound propagates evenly. I can notice that my guitar has more resonance and sutain when I play it unplugged. And plugged has more of a 'chime' sound like in the Beatles albums from Revolver onwards.
Fantastic electric guitar strings
I've used a lot of good strings over decades, but these are the best ever. German nickel is, apparently, the best in the world, and I believe it when I'm playing Pyramid strings. They feel a little looser than steel, stainless, or steel/nickel combinations, and the sound is rich and clear, with a real vintage vibe. Add to that the great value – they've got me totally hooked.
High E broke on two sets within 5 minutes
Like the title says: I purchased two sets and the high E-string from both sets broke within 5 minutes of use. I didn't do anything crazy, just some quiet practice at home.
I'm normally a huge fan of Pyramid strings but I will never buy these ones again, even though I loved the sound.
Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop 59
I wanted to make my Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop 59 vintage sounding, The Gibson Custom Shops come with Gibson Pure Nickel on, I tried a set on my guitar but it just didn't sound right, Pyramid strings seem to come up a lot when I was looking for good Pure Nickel strings, I put a set of "Pyramid Nickel Classics Regular010 - 046" on my Gibson Les Paul and I didn't want to put my guitar down, it sounded like my idols use to sound with their Les Pauls, Rock / Blues / Punk and Great for Solo's.
YOU MIGHT NEED TO HIGHER TO BASS SIDE OF YOUR PICKUP BY HALF A TURN OF THE ADJUSTMENT SCREW?
Because they are Pure Nickel the wound string are very slightly lower output then Nickel-Plated strings, this is how they were in the days of old.
Warm "bluesy" sound and longlasting
These are my favorite strings. Nice warm sound thanks to the all nickel/ round cores and last quite long. Also very flexible, so you can consider buying a .011 set. Only disadvantage is that they come in an old school paper package > i'd prefer a sealed bag to keep them fresh.
NICE STRINGS
I LIKE THEM ON MY STRAT AND TELE BUT I DONT KNOW IF WILL BUY THEM AGAIN. THE EPN110 WAS MAKING TO MY EARS MORE DIFFERENCE IN THE SOUND THAN THE PYRAMID.
DESPITE THE ABOVE, THIS STRINGS ARE VERY GOOD AND IN GOOD PRICE.
Great strings!!
Really happy with these strings on the various guitars I have them on. Nice feel, last a good amount of time, stay in tune well and most importantly have great tone! These strings are best suited to bright guitars in my opinion and I have had favorable results using them on my superstrats. Perhaps a shade too dark for a mahogany based guitar.
pleasant but not long lasting
Pleasant string to play, good tone and good feel but not so long lasting as other brands and models I had.
I mean after a couple of month even though not played often (4 to 5 times per week in the spring time, not to hot) I start noticing oxidation.
Great Strings
These are my favourite guitar strings for my vintage stratocaster and I have tried most other makes. I also prefer these to the 11s gauge that gave my hand some aches & pains.
I like to tune them down a semitone/half step because I like the sound and the ease of bending full & micro bends.
Real quality product that remain lively even after extensive playing.
Perhaps a little more expensive than others but worth the investment.
great strings
Warmer than maximum performance. My first choice for single coils.
