Great DI Box for the price

Have used a few DI boxes and this is by far the most versatile. Great sound, fantastic boost as the output from my guitar pick up is quite low. Highly recommend.

Low price yet unbeatable quality

Very firm body and reliable I/O, I've used it under nearly any scenario and it just work like a champ.

overall it delivers a super low noise floor and very clear signal quality, there's nothing to complain about whatsoever.

Nice DI box

This is my first DI box. I bought it for home recording for my electric guitar.

It works great and has nice sound.

Radial at it's best

one of cheapest Radial DI-boxes but sounds amazing. Especially with guitars. Money well spent!

Sturdy and tiny DI box

Great tiny DI box with a good sound and good features. Perfect for in the gigbag with acoustic guitar. I gave four stars for features because the unit can only be phantom powered. No DC in or battery option.

Good DI

This DI is have a good sound and Quality. The sound is very good.

But you can't compare this DI with JDI But this DI give you a good sound too.

Unbelievable sound for the price!

Radial engineering is guarantee! This little box is really worth its name, stagebug... Perfect sound, strong signal, cute appearence - worth considering even on pa gear, no? - and even features a lift-ground switch - even though it works with phantom power, so it's a special technical patent taking place here - as well as phase reverse and -15db pad. Highly recommended!

Great Little device

I got this DI to boost my Acoustic sound that live gigs and I've not been disappointed , it's easy and guick to set up and for a small piece of gear it packs a lot of punch beautiful clear crystal sound through the PA were little fuss glad I got it

Best active DI for the price

Having had several behringer DI's fail over the last year, I spent a little bit more to get something nicer. It's extremely well built and gives a very clean signal. The design is nice and minimalist, but with all the features you'd need. The only slight complaint is that the pad is recesed and needs a pen or point to operate, while the phase button (which I'd never use due to having phase flip on the desk) has a dedicated button. The overall quality of this box though is excellent.

Great natural sound

Great sounding DI box, let's the sound of your guitar come through.

I've tried this out through a smaller portable PA mixer system and at a full gig set up (3k rig with stage monitors and engineer). Using my Martin D28 with AER Ak15 pickup through the portable system I was able to do a direct comparison with my friends AER compact 60 which is a stunning sounding acoustic amp. To my ears the Stagebug had a much more open and natural sound. More dynamic response, a sweeter treble and a nice thump to the bass when digging in. Using this system I used the phase reverse switch and 10db pad.

Through the house PA at my local rock venue I wasn't pleased with the sound coming through the monitors. I had the pad engaged but didn't need to use the other 2 features. However, upon hearing a recording taken on the night, I was extremely pleased with the overall tone. Again, a very natural sound which I feel up until now I have never managed to quite nail with the AER pickup.

The compact size of the unit is a real bonus and I just might buy another to live in my Takemine 12 strings case as well.

Best DI Box Ever

I use this product on my pedal board for all of my acoustic gigs

The tone of my acoustic guitars have improved greatly, as has the output! I use a D-Tar Sadducer pickup which is completely passive. The pad switch and phase switches are great if your guitar does not have a pre amp.

cons? NONE!

You won't be disapointed with this product. Radial make great DI boxes and this is now a vital piece of kit for me.

Fantastic Value For Money

I purchased this DI box to take advantage of the fact it has a ground switch as I like to split electric guitar signals on the way to the amp so I can re amp the original signal later. This box gets that job done perfectly as I have absolutely no more ground loop issues but as I started using it on more and more instruments I noticed it's sonic character is far superior to my interfaces direct instrument inputs.

For my passive semi acoustic guitar and my passive bass guitar this little box gives them new life as they sound brighter with more life. I will definitely be investing in the passive version in the near future.

The little blue box

The Bug is a superb DI for guitar, especially for it being so small it fits into the gig bag or case of the guitar. Features are also nice with the pad -switch and phase reverse, so you can eliminate feedback and bring down a noisier guitar. Ground lift is also nice, and useful. The only down side is the need for phantom power, if you dont have it in the console/desk/preamp, the bug doesn't fly.

The sound of the bug is, at least to my ears, transparent, so it does what it's suppose to do, but doesn't color the sound of the guitar. So this is one small DI with some nice features.

A cracking DI Box

After a lot of research and testing of various DI Boxes, I have found the Radial DI Boxes to be great. This SB-1 is no exception. The metal case is very very sturdy, but the compact design means it will fit in the guitar case section.

The ins and outs are also very well made and the buttons feel solid enough. This DI box gives a lovely warm sound and has been eq'd for guitars nicely. I have been very impressed with the standard of manufacturing from Radial and would highly recommended them to anyone looking for a great solid DI box at a very affordable price.

Awesome DI

When they say optimised for acoustic guitar they really mean it! This DI has a lovely warm sound to it that works beautifully with an acoustic guitar. I used it recently at an open mic night with a musician playing a £1500 guitar. After tuning up, before starting his slot he announced to the audience "This sound quality is really good, I'm not used to this.[for an open mic night]" I hadn't used any Radial Engineering stuff in the past but I'll definitely be getting another one of these. Got a Radial Pro48 and a Klark Teknik DN-100 at the same time but I'll write separate reviews of those.
